대부분의 사람들은 어렵고 힘든 일을 피하고 굳이 나서지 않으려 합니다. Most people avoid difficult and hard tasks and do not bother to do them. 이스라엘 공동체에도 이런 분위기가 만연했습니다. This atmosphere was prevalent in the Israeli community as well. 각 지파에 기업으로 줄 땅을 나눴지만, 아직 정복하지 못한 지역이 있었습니다. The land to be given as an inheritance was divided among each tribe, but there were areas that had not yet been conquered. 그럼에도 불구하고 이스라엘 사람들은 그들에게 가장 큰 어려움을 안겨줄 곳을 정복하기를 꺼렸습니다. Even so, the Israelites were reluctant to conquer the places that were most certainly going to give them a hard time. 그러나 전혀 다르게 생각한 사람도 있었습니다. But there were also people who thought quite differently. 하나님이 주신 땅이니 차지할 수 있고 마땅히 차지해야 한다고 생각한 사람입니다. This is a person who thought that since it was a land given by God, they could and should occupy it. 어려움이 있음에도 불구하고 하나님을 믿고 도전한 사람, 바로 갈렙입니다. The man who believed in God and took on the challenge despite the difficulties was Caleb.

 

□말씀과 나눔 Words and Sharing

1. 이스라엘 지도자들이 하나님의 명령을 따라 기업을 나눕니다(1~5절).

1. Israel’s leaders divide their inheritance according to God’s command (verses 1-5).

1) 이스라엘 백성은 어떤 방법으로 땅을 분배합니까(1~2절)?

1) How do the Israelites distribute the land (verses 1-2)?

1 이것은 이스라엘 자손이 가나안 땅에서 받은 기업 곧 제사장 엘르아살과 눈의 아들 여호수아와 이스라엘 자손 지파의 족장들이 분배한 것이니라

2 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 그들의 기업을 제비 뽑아 아홉 지파와 반 지파에게 주었으니

1 This is the inheritance that the children of Israel received in the land of Canaan, distributed by Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the families of the tribes of the children of Israel.

2 Their inheritance was given by lot to nine tribes and to half a tribe, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

 

여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 그들의 기업을 제비 뽑아 땅을 분배합니다. The land is distributed by lot for their inheritance, just as the Lord commanded Moses.

 

2) 레위 자손에게는 기업(땅)을 주는 대신 무엇을 주었습니까(3~4절)?

2) What was given to the descendants of Levi in ​​exchange for their inheritance (land) (verses 3-4)?

3 이는 두 지파와 반 지파의 기업은 모세가 요단 저쪽에서 주었음이요 레위 자손에게는 그들 가운데에서 기업을 주지 아니하였으니

4 이는 요셉의 자손이 므낫세와 에브라임의 두 지파가 되었음이라 이 땅에서 레위 사람에게 아무 분깃도 주지 아니하고 다만 거주할 성읍들과 가축과 재산을 위한 목초지만 주었으니

3 For Moses gave an inheritance to the two tribes and to half a tribe beyond the Jordan; to the sons of Levi he gave no inheritance among them.

4 For the descendants of Joseph became two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. To the Levites they were given no portion in the land, but only cities to live in and pasture for their livestock and their possessions.

 

레위 사람에게 아무 분깃도 주지 아니하고 다만 거주할 성읍들과 가축과 재산을 위한 목초지만 주었습니다.

He did not give the Levites any portion, but only gave them cities to live in and pasture for their livestock and property.

 

<나눔 1> 열두 지파는 원하는 땅을 쟁취하기 위하여 경쟁하지 않았습니다. <Sharing 1> The twelve tribes did not compete to acquire the land they wanted. 제비뽑기를 통해 자신에게 부여된 기업을 받아들였습니다. He accepted the company that was allocated to him through a lottery. 레위 지파의 경우 기업으로 땅을 받지 못했을 뿐, 그들에게는 ‘하나님’과 ‘직분’이라는 기업이 있었습니다.(참조 13:14,33; 18:7). In the case of the tribe of Levi, they did not receive land as an inheritance, but they had an inheritance of ‘God’ and ‘duty’ (see 13:14, 33; 18:7). 하나님이 우리 각자에게 맡겨주신 기업은 무엇인지 나눠봅시다. Let’s share what inheritance God has entrusted to each of us.

 

레위 지파처럼 교회 전임 교회 사역자로서 주일학교 사역, 병원 사역, 교정(교도소) 사역, 외국인 사역, 그리고 온라인 현지 사역과 MIC 선교회를 통한 세계 선교 사역을 하나님께서 저희에게 맡겨주신 기업(유산)입니다.

Like the tribe of Levi, we are full-time church workers and are a inheritance (legacy) that God has entrusted to us with Sunday school ministry, hospital ministry, correctional (prison) ministry, foreign ministry, and online local ministry and global missionary work through the MIC Mission.

 

2. 갈렙이 헤브론을 기업으로 요구합니다(6~15절).

2. Caleb demands Hebron as his inheritance (verses 6-15).

1) 갈렙이 기억하는 모세의 약속은 무엇입니까(9절)?

1) What is Moses’ promise that Caleb remembers (verse 9)?

9 그 날에 모세가 맹세하여 이르되 네가 내 하나님 여호와께 충성하였은즉 네 발로 밟는 땅은 영원히 너와 네 자손의 기업이 되리라 하였나이다

9 And Moses swore that day, saying, Because thou hast been faithful to the LORD my God, the land upon which thy foot shall tread shall be an inheritance unto thee and to thy seed forever.

 

모세가 갈렙에게 맹세하여 이르되 네가 내 하나님 여호와께 충성하였은즉 네 발로 밟는 땅은 영원히 너와 네 자손의 기업이 되리라 약속했습니다.

Moses swore to Caleb, “Because you have followed the Lord my God faithfully, the land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance for you and for your descendants forever.”

 

2) 갈렙이 선택한 헤브론은 어떤 곳입니까(12, 15절)? 2) What kind of place is Hebron that Caleb chose (verses 12, 15)?

12 그 날에 여호와께서 말씀하신 이 산지를 지금 내게 주소서 당신도 그 날에 들으셨거니와 그 곳에는 아낙 사람이 있고 그 성읍들은 크고 견고할지라도 여호와께서 나와 함께 하시면 내가 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 그들을 쫓아내리이다 하니

15 헤브론의 옛 이름은 기럇 아르바라 아르바는 아낙 사람 가운데에서 가장 큰 사람이었더라 그리고 그 땅에 전쟁이 그쳤더라

12 Now give me this hill country of which the LORD spoke in that day, of which you heard on that day, for the Anakites are there, and their cities are great and fortified. But if the LORD is with me, I will drive them out, just as the LORD has spoken. It's like that

15 The old name of Hebron was Kiriath Arba. Arba was the greatest of the Anakites. And the war ceased in the land.

 

그 곳에는 아낙 사람이 있고 그 성읍들은 크고 견고하고 거인들이 있는 곳입니다.

The Anakites are there, and their cities are large and strong, with giants in them.

 

3) 갈렙은 40세 때나 85세가 된 지금이나 어떤 사람입니까(8, 9, 14절)?

3) What kind of person is Caleb, both at age 40 and now at age 85 (verses 8, 9, 14)?

8 나와 함께 올라갔던 내 형제들은 백성의 간담을 녹게 하였으나 나는 내 하나님 여호와께 충성하였으므로

9 그 날에 모세가 맹세하여 이르되 네가 내 하나님 여호와께 충성하였은즉 네 발로 밟는 땅은 영원히 너와 네 자손의 기업이 되리라 하였나이다

14 헤브론이 그니스 사람 여분네의 아들 갈렙의 기업이 되어 오늘까지 이르렀으니 이는 그가 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 온전히 좇았음이라

8 My brothers who went up with me made the people's hearts melt, but I was faithful to the LORD my God.

9 And Moses swore that day, saying, Because thou hast been faithful to the LORD my God, the land upon which thy foot shall tread shall be an inheritance unto thee and to thy seed forever.

14 Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizite, to this day, because he followed the LORD, the God of Israel, completely.

 

갈렙은 하나님 여호와께 충성하였으며 그가 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 온전히 좇았습니다.

Caleb was faithful to the Lord God, and he followed the Lord God of Israel completely.

 

<나눔 2> 갈렙은 기업을 이스라엘의 실패를 만회하고 하나님의 이야기를 이어갈 장으로 바라보았습니다.

<Sharing 2> Caleb saw the inheritance as the new chapter of God's story after revovering from the Israel's failures. 기업에는 재산, 소유의 의미와 더불어 유산이라는 의미도 있습니다. The concept of inheritance was not only about assets and possessions, but also about heritage. 과거의 이야기를 기억하고 보존하여 그 정신을 이어가는 것도 포함됩니다. It also includes remembering and preserving the stories of the past to keep its spirit alive. 시간이 흘러도 기억하고 보존하고 이어가야 할 우리 유산은 무엇인지 이야기해봅시다. Let’s talk about what our heritage is that should be remembered, preserved, and continued over time.

 

지난 주에 아버지께서 어머니에게 선물한 성경책을 보았습니다. 부모님은 돌아가셨지만 부모님의 신앙을 저희 자녀들이 이어받고 다음 세대에 잘 전할 수 있도록 힘써야 합니다.

Last week, I saw the Bible that my father gave to my mother. Although our parents have passed away, we must work hard to ensure that our children can inherit their faith and pass it on to the next generation.

 

<나눔 3> 가나안 땅을 정탐한 후 아낙 자손과 같은 크고 강한 적들로 인해 두려워하던 이스라엘에게 용기를 줬던 갈렙은 45년 후에 아낙 자손을 무찌르는 선봉장이 되었습니다. <Sharing 3> After scouting the land of Canaan, Caleb gave courage to Israel, who were afraid of large and strong enemies such as the Anakites. 45 years later, he became the leader in defeating the Anakites. 성경은 그런 갈렙을 하나님께 충성했다, 하나님을 온전히 좇았다고 평가합니다. The Bible evaluates Caleb as being loyal to God and following God completely. 신앙의 유산을 이어가기 위해 우리가 충성해야 할 부분은 무엇인지 이야기해봅시다. Let’s talk about what we must be loyal to in order to continue the legacy of faith.

 

때때로 핍박과 위협이 있더하더라도 주님 주신 사명을 저희 가족과 성도들이 갈렙과 그의 자손들처럼 잘 감당해야 합니다. Even though there may be persecution and threats at times, our family and believers must carry out the mission given by the Lord like Caleb and his descendants.

하나님, 당신께서 저희에게 맡겨주신 역할을 기업으로 여기며 저희 가족과 성도들이 충성되이 잘 감당하게 하소서!

God, let us regard the role you have entrusted to us as our inheritance and help our family and believers faithfully fulfill it!
