Give thanks to the Lord

 

[Psalm 107:1-22]

 

The poet calls those who have been saved by God and invites them to praise God and give thanks to Him. God's salvation is guiding those who have lost their way to the right path. God's salvation is when a person who is suffering in prison because he was arrogant and ignored God's will humbles his heart before God and is rescued again. God's salvation is to heal and save a person who has been punished to death due to counterattacks and sins if they turn from their sins. This salvation all begins with crying out to God in the midst of suffering.

 

The Lord is good and His lovingkindness endures forever. We must be thankful for the Lord's kindness and the amazing salvation He has given to people (1,8,15,21,22). We must offer sacrifices of thanks and spread the word of what the Lord has accomplished with joyful songs.

 

The Lord is the One who rescues us from our suffering when we cry out to Him in the midst of suffering, puts us on the right path, and allows us to enter the city where people live. He is the one who rescued me from darkness and gloom and broke the chains that bound me. He is the one who healed me with just one word. He is the one who pulled me out of the abyss of destruction. God saves us when we cry out in suffering (6,7,13,14,19,20). Even if you have brought suffering upon yourself because of your sins and faults, if you sincerely repent and appeal to God, He will listen and deliver you. What is preventing you from praying? God is waiting to listen.

 

Good and merciful Lord, let us earnestly cry out to You in our suffering and be saved! So let us joyfully praise Your goodness and mercy and the salvation You have given us!
