God's Salvation
Psalm 107:23-43
The poet sings about the salvation of the Lord that the voyagers experienced. All the navigator's wisdom is of no use in the face of great storms and waves like mountains brought about by God. When we cry out to the Lord, relying not on our own navigational skills, the Lord finally rescues us. Next, the poet sings about God who gives justice and mercy to the world. God punishes those in power who oppress, and takes care of the weak who have been exploited. True wisdom is knowing God’s kindness.
God sometimes gives us trials to make us rely on Him (23-30). The sailors abandoned their wisdom and clung to the Lord in the face of a storm they could not handle. That's when God came to the rescue. Are you facing an uncontrollable storm in your life? Cry out to God. God will definitely guide you to the harbor of your dreams.
Everything that happens around us reveals God’s kindness (43). The Lord's mercy is great and amazing because He did not save people because of their good deeds, but because He took pity on their situation. Man's sin causes suffering, and God's grace brings rest. Let us become a channel that delivers the grace of God's kindness to the places of suffering caused by people's greed and sin.
Lord God, may our suffering serve as turning points to draw us closer to You. Give us the wisdom to recognize and receive Your mercy.
주 하나님, 우리의 고난이 우리를 당신께 더 가까이 나아가게 하는 전환점이 되기를 바랍니다. 우리에게 당신의 자비를 인식하고 받을 수 있는 지혜를 주소서.
