God fills my needs and helps me every day

 

[2 Kings 6:1-14]

 

Elisha's prophet trainees tell Elisha that this place is too small, so they want to go to the Jordan and find a place to live. While chopping wood, a man drops his ax into water. Elisha throws a branch where the ax fell, and the ax floats up and retrieves it.

Elisha finds out what the king of Aram says in secret in his bedroom and tells it to the king of Israel. The king of Aram sends a strong army to Dothan to capture Elisha.

 

God is the source of problem solving, and he is the one who helped Elisha find the ax that had fallen into the water and brought the plan of the king of Aram to naught.

 

God values ​​an ordinary person and takes careful care of him (1-7). The Prophet's poor disciple was in despair because he could not repay the expensive iron ax he had borrowed. Elisha immediately solves his difficulties. Even though Elisha was respected by kings, he never forgot to take care of his faithful workers. Do we look back on our neighbors’ pain with God’s compassionate heart and extend a helping hand?

 

God is the one who makes man's meticulous plans useless (8-10). Although a person plans his own path, it is God who guides his path (Proverbs 16:9). We need faith that pays attention to God's word rather than relying on our own wisdom and counsel.

 

Lord, help me remember that it is Your who fills my needs and helps me every day.
