Loyalty vs Greed
2 Kings 5:15-27
When General Naaman was cured of his leprosy, he was grateful and wanted to give thanks, but Elisha did not accept it, and Gehazi took it falsely and became sick with leprosy.
Elisha refuses General Naaman’s gift (16). General Naaman's gift was pure, but Elisha wanted all the glory to be focused on God. This is because the star of the stage had to be God, not himself. Let us be careful not to allow good works that bring glory to God to be diluted by personal greed.
If you are obsessed with selfish desires, it is like having leprosy in your mind. Elisha's servant, Gehazi, became obsessed with greed and lost his sense of God's will and sin. The leprosy on Gehazi's body reflects his state of mind. What values dominate my mind?
We live in a sad era where some large churches' billions of benefactors are perceived as a natural right due to some pastors' greed, fear of old age, and compensation for their contributions. God loved us until he died on the cross for us. I sincerely pray that you will become a pastor who imitates the heart of the Lord.
Lord, help us worship and serve You purely with hearts and spirits.
주여, 순전한 마음과 영으로 주님을 예배하고 섬기게 하옵소서.
