Dan's fault

 

사사기 Book of Judges 18:21~31

 

단 지파 사람들이 미가의 집에서 우상들과 제사장을 훔쳐갔으므로 미가는 이웃집 사람들을 데리고 단 지파 사람들에게 쫓아가 항의하지만 힘의 열세로 인하여 집으로 다시 돌아옵니다.

단 지파 사람들은 무력으로 라이스 사람들을 죽이고 그 땅을 차지하며 그 성을 단이라고 불렀습니다. 그리고 미가의 집에서 가져온 우상을 두고 섬겼습니다.

The Danites stole the idols and priests from Micah's house, so Micah took the neighbors and chased after the Danites and protested, but returned to the house because of their inferiority in strength.

The people of Dan killed the Laishites by force, took possession of the land, and called the city Dan. And they worshiped idols brought from Micah's house.

 

힘이 있다고 그 힘을 함부로 사용해서는 안됩니다. 우리가 가진 힘은 어려운 사람들을 돕는데 사용해야 합니다.

Just because you have power, you shouldn't use that power recklessly. We must use our strength to help those in need.

 

단 지파처럼 우상을 두고 섬기는 것이 아니라 오직 하나님만을 섬겨야 합니다.

Instead of worshiping idols like the tribe of Dan, we must serve only God.

 

하나님, 우리가 가진 힘을 함부로 사용하지 않고 어려운 사람들을 돕는데 사용하게 하소서! 우상을 섬기는 것이 아니라 오직 하나님만을 섬기게 하소서!

God, help us not to misuse our powers, but to help those in need! Let us do not serve idols, but serve only God!
