Don't put off what you need to do
[Joshua 18:1-28]
Israel moves its headquarters to Shiloh and sets up the Tent of Meeting there. Joshua orders the seven tribes, who have not yet taken possession of the land, to take possession of the land without any further delay. People elected from each tribe look around the remaining land and draw a map dividing it into seven portions. Based on that map, Joshua allocates the land to the seven tribes by casting lots in front of the Tent of Meeting. The tribe of Benjamin receives as its property the land between the tribe of Judah in the south and the tribe of Ephraim in the north. Although there were many barren places, it was a good land to be close to God.
Waiting for God's timing is faith, but hesitating to do what God has commanded and promised success is laziness (2-3). Do you keep putting things off even though you know you have to do it? How long will you put it off? Shake off your laziness, get up, try and challenge yourself.
True blessing is being next to God regardless of the situation or environment (11-28). Although the tribe of Benjamin had a lot of barren land, they were blessed to live near God. It is true that it is difficult to live in a harsh environment. However, the blessing of being close to God makes it possible to endure difficult situations.
Dear God, help us to bear the fruit of faith everyday, in all circumstances, and without blaming bad circumstances.
