Return to Jehovah
[Hosea 14:1-9]
God wants Israel, who did not keep the covenant (promise) and left God, to return. God not only forgives Israel if they repent and return, but also promises to restore them to a more glorious and beautiful form than before. The restored Israel will take root only in God, bear fruit, and live a fragrant life. True wisdom is knowing God and returning to God. A wise person will live in obedience, but a foolish person will live in disobedience.
God promised to love and protect Israel, who returned to Him, repented of all their sins, and asked for forgiveness. He will make flowers bloom in your life filled with dew-like grace and spread its fragrance throughout the earth. So, let us not hesitate now and return to God, repent of all our sins and ask for forgiveness. God is willing to love and forgive us.
Repentance is a declaration of ‘separation’ and ‘decision’ from sin (3,8). It is about changing what we have loved and relied on. It is a complete ‘break away’ from a life of idol worship, and a ‘decision’ not to rely on anything other than God. God has mercy on those who choose holy isolation and alienation, like orphans, and will never leave them alone.
God, help us to return to you, repent of all our sins and ask for forgiveness! Let us declare separation from sin and resolve to love and rely only on You!
