부자들을 향한 권면

그대는 이 세상의 부자들에게 명령하여, 교만해지지도 말고, 덧없는 재물에 소망을 두지도 말고, 오직 우리에게 모든 것을 풍성히 주셔서 즐기게 하시는 하나님께 소망을 두라고 하십시오. 또 선을 행하고, 좋은 일을 많이 하고, 아낌없이 베풀고, 즐겨 나누어 주라고 하십시오. 그렇게 하여, 앞날을 위하여 든든한 기초를 스스로 쌓아서 참된 생명을 얻으라고 하십시오. (딤전 6:17~19 새번역)

 

Command the rich of this world not to be proud, nor to place their hope in fleeting riches, but to trust in God, who has given us everything in abundance for our enjoyment. Also, tell them to do good, to do many good things, to be generous, and to share cheerfully. In this way, build a solid foundation for yourself and gain true life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19 new translation)
