The spirit of power, love, and self-control
[2 Timothy 1:1-8]
* God our Father and our Lord Christ Jesus, who give us grace, mercy and peace (2)
* Pray day and night, remembering the members (saints) and giving thanks to God (3)
* Paul remembering Timothy's tears and wanting to see him and be filled with joy (4) -> Let us offer tearful prayers for each other and long for the joy of meeting.
* Let us pass on the legacy of faith (5).
* Paul who wants to rekindle God's gifts through the laying on of hands (6)-> Let us long for the restoration of the gifts through the laying on of hands and prayer.
* God did not give us a spirit of cowardice (fear), but a spirit of power, love, and self-control (7).
* Do not be ashamed of bearing witness to our Lord or of those who are prisoners for the Lord, but suffer together for the gospel with the power of God (8).
God, let us pray day and night for each other and be filled with joy through our encounters! May we be filled with the spirit of power, love, and self-control, so that we may not be ashamed of the gospel and boldly preach it!
