Humility and Obedience

 

2 Kings 1:13-18

 

God is the one who values ​​the lives of the commander of fifty and his fifty subordinates by listening to the third captain's request on his knees before Elijah and pleading (13-15). God shows mercy to those who humble themselves before God (Elijah), and humbles those who are proud. Commander Fifty, who humbly prayed for mercy before God, was spared, but Ahaziah, who did not seek God's help in a time of crisis but instead looked to idols and believed in his own power and tried to arrest God's man Elijah, lost his life. We must humble ourselves with humility and rely on God's help in times of crisis.

 

God is the one who definitely accomplishes what He says (15-17). He fulfilled the words, ‘Ahaziah, who did not rely on God but relied on idols, will die on his sickbed (verses 4, 16).’ What is God saying He will fulfill in our lives?

 

Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

20 Teach them to observe all that I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.

 

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

 

Joshua 1:8,9 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will make your way prosperous and successful.

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed; for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

 

God, help us not be arrogant but humbly seek Your help! Let us live a blessed and prosperous life with You by obeying Your Words!
