Prison Visit

Prison Visit

This morning, I visited a brother in prison with my first son. On the way back from a visit, my son told me. It is said that he remembered the graffiti in the interview room he saw during the visit. These were words of hope that the person in prison would come out quickly and live together. And the son is said to have become an acquaintance of the sinner. Not only those in prison, but all of us have committed sins such as lies, hatred, envy, and selfishness, and fall short of the glory of God, so we have no choice but to be punished by death and eternal hell. However, Jesus, the Son of God, gave up the heavenly throne to give freedom to the captives and release to those who were bound, and came to this lowly and lowly earth and loved us even to the point of dying on the cross for us.

Today is Good Friday, commemorating the day Jesus died for us. Among the words spoken by Jesus on the cross, “Eli, Eli, lama, sabachthani, my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” are an expression of physical and mental suffering, like being abandoned by God for the salvation of all mankind. Jesus paid for our sins on the cross in our place. When we repent of our mistakes and believe in Jesus as our Savior, all our sins are forgiven, we gain the right to become children of God, and we can gain eternal life in heaven.

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani,” which means My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46)

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. (Luke 4:18,19)

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
