The Lord is my Lamp

 

2 Samuel 22:26-51

 

 

David goes on to confess, O LORD, you are my lamp; the LORD will light my darkness. I trust in you and run to my enemies, and in my God I leap over walls. And David also confesses, “God is my shield, my rock, and my strong fortress,” giving thanks and praise to the name of the Lord for making himself first among all nations.

 

The Lord is my lamp and the Lord brightens my darkness. Jesus spoke again, saying, "I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life (John 8:12). Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105) ) When we follow the Lord and His word, we will not walk in darkness and will receive the light of life.

 

David also confesses, “God is my shield, my rock, and my strong fortress.” And thank you among all the peoples for making yourself the first of all peoples, and praise the name of the Lord. Can we confess who God is? We thank God for saving us through the grace of the cross of Jesus, trusting God who will lead us until the day we go to heaven, and let's live praising the name of the Lord.

 

God, help me to follow You, my Lamp, and Your Word so that I may not walk in darkness and have the light of life! Thank You for the grace of Jesus who saved us through the grace of the cross, trust in God who will guide us until the day we go to Heaven, and let us live praising Your name!
