God Helps Daniel With His Will
Daniel 1:8-21
Daniel made up his mind and asked the chief of the eunuch that he would not defile himself with the food and wine the king gave him. But the eunuch feared that his life would be in jeopardy because Daniel would not eat the king's food. During the ten-day trial period, Daniel asked the overseer to eat and drink only vegetables and water. So God made Daniel and his three friends look healthier. And God gave Daniel more wisdom, giving him ten times more wisdom than other magicians.
God helped Daniel, who had made up his mind, so that Daniel and his three friends who ate only vegetables and water without defiling himself with the food and wine the king gave him became healthier, and gave Daniel more wisdom, giving him more than ten times the wisdom of other magicians. God will help us and give us more abundant health and wisdom when we, like Daniel, have a purpose and decide to live a life separate from the world.
We must not compromise with the world. Daniel and his three friends decided not to defile themselves with the king's bountiful food and wine, and persuaded the eunuch and the overseer to become healthier and gain the wisdom of God by eating only vegetables and water. We need to pray that we and our next generation will decide to live a life separate from the world and become holier, healthier and wiser without compromising with the world.
God, help us and our next generation to become more holy, healthier and wiser without compromising with the world, deciding to live separate from the world!
