Joel 2:1-2, 12-16

Because the day of Jehovah's judgment is near.

3. 요엘은 하나님이 어떤 분이라고 말하나요?(13절)

3. What kind of person does Joel say God is? (verse 13)

그분은 은혜롭고 자비로우시다. 그분은 쉽게 노하지 않으시고 사랑이 많으시며 벌을 내리지 아니하신다. He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

요엘은 유다 사람들에게 무서운 심판의 날이 다가오고 있으니, 지금이라도 얼른 하나님에게 돌아와야 한다고 말해요.

Joel tells the people of Judah that the terrible judgment day is approaching, and they must return to God as soon as possible.

겉모습만으로 하나님께로 향하는 척 해서는 안 됩니다.

We must not pretend that we are turning to God only by our outward appearance.

속마음까지 새롭게 바꾸어 진심으로 뉘우쳐야 하나님이 받아 주세요.

God will accept you only when you change your inner heart and sincerely repent.

너희는 옷을 찢지 말고 마음을 찢고 너희 하나님 여호와께로 돌아올지어다 그는 은혜로우시며 자비로우시며 노하기를 더디하시며 인애가 크시사 뜻을 돌이켜 재앙을 내리지 아니하시나니

Joel 2:13

And rend your hearts and not your garments.”

Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful,

slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;

and he relents over disaster.
