The Kingdom of God that Jesus achieves

 

누가복음 Luke 6:12~26

 

예수님의 일상은 분주했지만, 늘 홀로 기도하는 시간을 가지셨습니다. 예수님은 제자들 중에서 열둘을 뽑아 사도라 부르십니다. 이후 예수님은 평지에 내려와 모여든 무리를 가르치고 치유하십니다. 예수님은 가난하고, 굶주리고, 슬피 울고, 미움을 당하고 핍박받는 이들에게 복을 선언하십니다. 하나님 나라가 이런 사람들의 것이기 때문입니다. 반면에 불의한 세상에 편승하여 부요하고, 배부르고, 웃고, 칭찬받는 이들에게는 화를 선언하십니다. 하나님 나라가 임했으니, 그들의 처지가 역전될 것입니다.

Although Jesus' daily life was busy, he always found time to pray alone. Jesus chooses twelve from among his disciples and calls them apostles. Afterwards, Jesus comes down to the plains and teaches and heals the gathered crowd. Jesus declares blessings to those who are poor, hungry, weeping, hated, and persecuted. This is because the kingdom of God belongs to these people. On the other hand, God declares woe to those who are rich, full, laughing, and praised by taking advantage of the unjust world. Now that the kingdom of God has come, their situation will be reversed.

 

예수님은 다양한 사람들을 사도로 세우셨습니다(13~16). 이는 하나님 나라의 포용성과 평등성을 보여줍니다. 사람을 배제하는 것은 하나님 나라를 좁은 곳으로 만드는 일이고, 차별하는 것은 하나님 나라를 세속 제국과 다를 바 없는 곳으로 만드는 일입니다. 우리 공동체는 사람들을 향해 열려 있고 평등한 곳입니까?

Jesus appointed various people as apostles (13-16). This shows the inclusiveness and equality of God's kingdom. Excluding people is making the Kingdom of God a narrow place, and discriminating is making the Kingdom of God no different from a secular empire. Is our community an open and equal place for people?

예수님은 평범한 어부, 사회적으로 비난받는 세리, 기득권에 도전하는 열심당원을 제자로 부르십니다. 예수님을 배신할 가룟 유다도 부르십니다. 이들의 면모는 하나님 나라가 모든 이에게 열려 있음을 보여 줍니다. 이처럼 우리도 자격을 따지지 않고 오직 은혜로 부르셨습니다. 이것은 우리가 항상 겸손하고 감사하며 주님의 일을 감당해야 하는 이유입니다.

Jesus calls ordinary fishermen, socially criticized tax collectors, and zealots who challenge vested interests as disciples. He also calls Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus. These people show that the kingdom of God is open to everyone. In the same way, we too were called only by grace, without considering qualifications. This is why we must always be humble and grateful and carry out the Lord's work.

 

산에서 ‘내려오신’ 예수님은 기도를 통해 얻은 능력으로 많은 병자를 고치십니다(17~19절). 더 낮은 곳으로 더 많은 사람을 섬기기 위해 더 가까이 다가오신 것입니다. 그 중에는 유대인만 아니라 멀리서 온 ‘이방인’도 있습니다. 예수님은 유대인이든 이방인이든 구분하지 않으시고, 절박한 심정으로 자신을 붙잡는 ‘모든 사람’을 고치십니다. 로마 황제가 주지 못하는 진정한 안식과 평화가 예수님을 통해 임합니다.

Jesus, who ‘came down’ from the mountain, heals many sick people with the power he gained through prayer (verses 17-19). He came closer to serve more people in a lower place. Among them, there are not only Jews but also ‘Gentiles’ from far away. Jesus does not distinguish between Jews and Gentiles, and heals ‘everyone’ who clings to him out of desperation. The true rest and peace that the Roman emperor cannot give comes through Jesus.

 

 

하나님 나라는 현재의 상태를 역전시키는 나라입니다(20~26). 가난해도 정직한 삶을 기뻐하고, 미움받더라도 정의의 편에 서는 사람이 복이 있습니다. 지금 우리의 모습은 하나님 나라를 소유할 제자답습니까?

The kingdom of God is a kingdom that reverses the current situation (17-26). Blessed are those who rejoice in an honest life even if they are poor, and who stand on the side of justice even if they are hated. Are we now worthy of disciples who will own the kingdom of God?

 

하나님 나라를 받아들인 자들의 ‘가난과 주림, 눈물과 핍박’은 복이 되지만 이 세상에 취해 부하고 배부른 자에게는 화가 있을 것입니다. 그러니 하나님 나라를 사모하지 않을 만큼 편안하고 넉넉한 삶이 복일 리가 없습니다. 이렇듯 물질의 번영이나 고난 없는 삶을 복이라고 말하는 것은 복음의 왜곡입니다. 제자라고 부르받은 우리도 이 복과 화의 선언을 통해 우리의 삶의 가치와 목표를 수정해야 하지 않을까요?

The ‘poverty, hunger, tears, and persecution’ of those who have accepted the kingdom of God will be a blessing, but woe to those who have become drunk and rich and full of this world. Therefore, a comfortable and generous life that does not yearn for the kingdom of God cannot be a blessing. In this way, saying that material prosperity or a life without suffering is a blessing is a distortion of the gospel. Shouldn't we, who are called to be disciples, revise the values ​​and goals of our lives through this declaration of blessing and misfortune?

 

주여, 가난해도 정직하고 미움을 받아도 옳은 행하는 제자로 살아가게 하옵소서.

Lord, help us to live as disciples who are honest even is poverty, and does is right even when hated.

지금 눈 앞에 있는 편리와 이득 때문에 장래의 복을 잃어버리지 않게 하소서!

Don’t let us lose our future blessings because of the convenience and benefits that are right in front of us now!

하나님 나라의 기준으로 삶을 해석하며, 영원한 복을 지향하는 인생되게 하소서!

Let us interpret life according to the standards of the kingdom of God and live a life that aims for eternal blessings!
