Irreversible Oath of Peace
[Joshua 9:16-27]
It is revealed that the Gibeon residents made peace through lies, but since they had already sworn an oath, Joshua and the Israelites do not break the treaty (promise). Instead, the residents of Gibeon become servants who serve at the altar of the tabernacle.
Even if a treaty (promise) is made by deceit, it must be kept faithfully. We must be careful about our promises and keep them.
God, help us be careful about our promises and faithfully keep them!
