하나님의 말씀을 멸시하고 악행하는 자들이 즉각적인 보응을 받고, 하나님을 경외하며 의롭게 사는 자들이 형통한다면 어떻게 살아야 하는지가 분명할 것입니다. If those who despise God's word and commit evil deeds receive immediate retribution, and those who fear God and live righteously prosper, then it will be clear how we should live. 그러나 현실에서는 악인이 잘되고 의인이 고난을 겪는 일이 비일비재합니다. But in reality, it is not uncommon for the wicked to prosper and the righteous to suffer. 이러한 상황에서 공평과 정의의 길을 우직하게 걸어가는 것이 쉽지 않습니다. In these circumstances, it is not easy to honestly walk the path of fairness and justice. 그렇기 때문에 우리에게 믿음이 필요합니다. That's why we need faith. 하나님의 공의로운 성품을 향한 신뢰, 하나님이 약속하신 완전한 정의와 평화의 날을 기다리는 믿음 말입니다. Trust in God's righteous character, faith that awaits the day of perfect justice and peace that God has promised. 그 믿음이 불의하고 부조리한 현실을 견딜 힘을 줍니다. That belief gives us the strength to endure the unjust and absurd reality.

 

□말씀과 나눔 Words and Sharing

1. 여호와의 날이 이르면 의인과 악인은 분명히 나뉠 것입니다(13~18절). 1. When the day of the Lord comes, the righteous and the wicked will be clearly divided (verses 13-18).

1) 하나님을 대적하는 자들이 목격한 현실과 그에 따른 결론은 무엇입니까?(14~15) 1) What is the reality that those who oppose God have witnessed and what is the conclusion that follows from it? (14-15)

14 이는 너희가 말하기를 하나님을 섬기는 것이 헛되니 만군의 여호와 앞에서 그 명령을 지키며 슬프게 행하는 것이 무엇이 유익하리요

15 지금 우리는 교만한 자가 복되다 하며 악을 행하는 자가 번성하며 하나님을 시험하는 자가 화를 면한다 하노라 함이라

14 For you say, 'It is useless to serve God. What good is it that we have kept his commandments and walked mournfully before the LORD Almighty?' 15 But now we call the proud blessed; evildoers prosper, and those who tempt God escape.

 

그들은 교만한 자가 오히려 복이 있고, 악한 일을 하는 자가 번성하는 현실을 목격하고 하나님을 섬기는 것은 헛된 일이라고 합니다.

They witness the reality that the proud are blessed and those who do evil prosper, and they say that serving God is in vain.

 

2) 하나님 앞에 있는 기념책에 기록되는 사람은 누구입니까?(16절)

2) Who are the ones written in the book of remembrance before God? (v. 16)

 

16 그 때에 여호와를 경외하는 자들이 피차에 말하매 여호와께서 그것을 분명히 들으시고 여호와를 경외하는 자와 그 이름을 존중히 여기는 자를 위하여 여호와 앞에 있는 기념책에 기록하셨느니라

16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem his name.

 

여호와를 경외하는 자와 그 이름을 존중히 여기는 자를 여호와 앞에 있는 기념책에 기록하셨습니다.

A book of remembrance was written before the LORD, those who feared him and those who honored his name.

 

3) 하나님은 정하신 날에 어떤 일을 하십니까?(17~18절) 3) What does God do on the day he has appointed? (verses 17-18)

17 만군의 여호와가 이르노라 나는 내가 정한 날에 그들을 나의 특별한 소유로 삼을 것이요 또 사람이 자기를 섬기는 아들을 아낌 같이 내가 그들을 아끼리니

18 그 때에 너희가 돌아와서 의인과 악인을 분별하고 하나님을 섬기는 자와 섬기지 아니하는 자를 분별하리라

17 “‘They will be mine own,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘on the day I make my own, and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him. 18 Then you will return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who does not serve him.

하나님께서는 정하신 날에 그들을 자신의 특별한 소유로 삼을 것이고 사람이 자기를 섬기는 아들을 아낌 같이 하나님께서 그들을 아끼십니다. 그때 그들이 돌아와서 의인과 악인을 분별하고 하나님을 섬기는 자와 섬기지 아니하는 자를 분별할 것입니다.

God will make them his own special possession on the day he makes his choice, and he will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him. Then they will return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not serve Him.

 

<나눔 1> 악인이 형통하는 현실에서도 하나님을 경외하며 의로운 삶을 추구하는 사람이 여호와의 날에 인정받을 하나님의 자녀이고 의인입니다. <Sharing 1> Even in a reality where the wicked prosper, those who fear God and pursue a righteous life are the children of God and righteous people who will be acknowledged on the day of the Lord. 하나님을 섬기지 않는 사람, 하나님의 말씀의 길에서 벗어난 사람이 누리는 부귀영화를 부러워한 적은 없습니까? Have you ever envied the wealth and honor enjoyed by those who do not serve God and who have strayed from the path of God’s Word? 어떻게 하면 부조리한 현실에서 하나님을 경외하며 살 수 있을까요? How can we live in fear of God in this absurd(unfair) reality?

 

하나님께서 공평과 정의로 심판하실 최후의 심판 날이 올 것을 확신하고 하나님을 경외하며 살 수 있습니다. We can live in fear of God, confident that the final judgment day will come when God will judge with fairness and justice.

 

2. ‘여호와의 크고 두려운 날’은 이 땅에 정의와 평화가 이뤄지는 날입니다(4:1~6). 2. ‘The great and terrible day of the Lord’ is the day when justice and peace will be established on this earth (4:1-6).

1) 여호와께서 정하신 날이 이르면 교만한 자와 악인은 어떻게 됩니까(4:1)? 1) What will happen to the proud and the wicked when the day of Jehovah(LORD) comes (4:1)?

1 만군의 여호와가 이르노라 보라 용광로 불 같은 날이 이르리니 교만한 자와 악을 행하는 자는 다 지푸라기 같을 것이라 그 이르는 날에 그들을 살라 그 뿌리와 가지를 남기지 아니할 것이로되

1 Thus says the LORD Almighty: 'Behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace. All the proud and all who do evil will be stubble. The day that is coming will burn them up, says the LORD Almighty, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

 

교만한 자와 악을 행하는 자는 다 지푸라기 같을 것입니다. 그 이르는 날에 그들을 살라 그 뿌리와 가지를 남기지 아니할 것입니다.

All the proud and all who do evil will be like stubble. The day that comes will burn them up, leaving them neither root nor branch.

2) 그날에 하나님을 경외하는 의인은 어떻게 됩니까(4:2~3)? 2) What will happen to the righteous people who fear God on that day (4:2-3)?

 

2 내 이름을 경외하는 너희에게는 공의로운 해가 떠올라서 치료하는 광선을 비추리니 너희가 나가서 외양간에서 나온 송아지 같이 뛰리라

3 또 너희가 악인을 밟을 것이니 그들이 내가 정한 날에 너희 발바닥 밑에 재와 같으리라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라

 

2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. You will go out and skip about like calves released from the stall. 3 You will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day I do this,’ declares the LORD Almighty.

 

하나님을 경외하는 의인들은 나가서 외양간에서 나온 송아지 같이 뛸 것입니다. 또 그들은 악인을 밟을 것입니다. The righteous who fear God will go out and leap like calves released from the stall, and they will trample down the wicked.

3) 여호와의 날이 이르기 전에 선지자 엘리야가 와서 할 일은 무엇입니까?(4:4~6) 3) What will the prophet Elijah do before the day of the Lord comes? (4:4-6)

4 너희는 내가 호렙에서 온 이스라엘을 위하여 내 종 모세에게 명령한 법 곧 율례와 법도를 기억하라

5 보라 여호와의 크고 두려운 날이 이르기 전에 내가 선지자 엘리야를 너희에게 보내리니

6 그가 아버지의 마음을 자녀에게로 돌이키게 하고 자녀들의 마음을 그들의 아버지에게로 돌이키게 하리라 돌이키지 아니하면 두렵건대 내가 와서 저주로 그 땅을 칠까 하노라 하시니라

4 Remember the law of Moses my servant which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and ordinances. 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 6 He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

 

그가 아버지의 마음을 자녀에게로 돌이키게 하고 자녀들의 마음을 그들의 아버지에게로 돌이키게 할 것입니다.

He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.

 

<나눔 2> 여호와의 날이 되면, 현실의 악인이 형통하고 의인이 고통당하던 불의함과 부조리함이 모두 역전되어 제자리로 돌아갈 것입니다. <Sharing 2> When the day of Jehovah comes, all the injustice and absurdity of the current situation where the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer will be reversed and return to their proper place. 성도의 믿음은 그날을 소망하며 오늘을 인내하는 것입니다. The faith of a saint is to hope for that day and endure today. 종말에 대한 소망으로 우리가 참아야 하는 것들은 무엇입니까? What must we endure in hope of the end?

 

우리는 악인의 불의한 언행과 핍박을 종말에 대한 소망으로 참아야 합니다. We must endure the unrighteous words and actions of the wicked and the persecution of the wicked with the hope of the end.

 

<나눔 3> 여호와의 날은 아버지와 자녀가 서로를 향해 돌이키는 화해(평화)의 시대입니다.

<Sharing 3> Jehovah’s Day is a time of reconciliation (peace) when fathers and children turn to each other. 세례 요한이 이날을 준비하였고, 예수님을 통해 이날이 시작되었습니다. John the Baptist prepared this day, and it began with Jesus.

여전히 불화 속에 머무는 사람들을 이 평화로 초대하기 위해 우리가 할 수 있는 일은 무엇일지 이야기해봅시다.

 

Let's talk about what we can do to invite those who still remain in discord(disharmony) into this peace.

 

불화하여 깨어진 가정의 회복을 위해 기도하며 화평케하는 자로서 역할을 감당합시다.

Let us pray for the restoration of broken families and take on the role of peacemakers.

하나님께서 정의로운 심판을 내리실 그날을 소망하며 오늘의 불의를 견디게 하소서!

May we endure today's injustice in the hope of the day when God will bring righteous judgment!

 

불화하여 깨어진 가정의 회복을 회복시켜 주시고 저희가 화평케하는 자로서 역할을 감당하게 하소서!

Please restore broken homes and help us fulfill our role as peacemakers!
