Job's Beliefs

Job's Beliefs

Job 27:1-23

Job once again asserts his innocence, swearing by the living God. Job uses the question format to describe the hopeless situation that an unrighteous person experiences. At the last moment, the wicked has no hope because God will not hear his cries. Job continues to talk about the fate of the wicked. Job, unlike his friends, said that even though he was a wicked man, he could prosper in this world. However, it is said again that in the end, the fate of the wicked will be miserable.

Job swears “in the name of God, who afflicts me and does not allow me to receive a just judgment” (2). He cried out to the God he had faced and swore his innocence. Like Job, we must express ourselves honestly and hold on to God firmly.

Job claims his purity and righteousness in the name of God, like a man who swears to tell only the truth in front of a court of law (1-6). No matter how much others condemn me when they see my suffering, can I confess my righteousness before God?

Lord, help me to remember the fate of the wicked, even in unrighteous and confusing situation, and help me to maintain my innocence.

주여, 불의하고 혼란스러운 상황 속에서도 악인의 운명을 기억하고 결백함을 유지할 수 있도록 도와주옵소서.
