Behold, the Age of the Gospel (Heaven) has arrived!

 

마태복음Matthew 11장 1~15절

 

 

세례요한이 옥에 갇혀서 그리스도께서 하신 일을 듣고 자신의 제자들을 예수님께 보내 “오실 이가 당신입니까 아니면 다른 이를 기다려야 합니까?”라고 묻습니다. 예수께서 대답하시기를 “눈먼 자가 보고 나병환자가 나으며 죽은 자가 살아나며 가난한 자에게 복음을 전파된 것을 알려 주라”고 하시며 “누구든지 나로 말미암아 실족하지 않는 자가 복이 있다”고 하십니다. 그리고 예수님은 “여자가 낳은 자 중에 세례 요한보다 큰 이가 없다. 그러나 천국에서는 극히 작은 자라도 그보다 크다. 세례요한의 때부터 천국은 침노를 당하나니 침노하는 자가 빼앗는다. 모든 선지자와 율법이 예언한 것은 요한까지니 오리라한 엘리야가 이 사람이라. 귀 있는 자는 들을지어다.”하셨습니다.

 

John the Baptist is locked in prison, he hears what Christ has done, sends his disciples to Jesus, asking, "Is this you or should I wait for someone else?" Jesus answered, "Let the blind see, let the leprosy heal, let the dead rise, and let the poor know that the gospel has been spread," and "Blessed is anyone who does not lose because of me." And Jesus said, "There is no one greater than John the Baptist than a woman gave birth to. But in heaven, even the smallest is bigger than him. From the time of John the Baptist, heaven has been baptized, but the baptist takes it away. All prophets and the law prophesied that Elijah was this man, even John. He who has ears shall hear."That's what he did.

 

예수님은 눈먼 자를 보게 하시고 나병환자를 치료하시며 죽은 자를 살리시며 가난한 자에게 복음을 전파하신 분입니다. 이렇게 자신이 참 메시아임을 보여 주시고 천국의 실체를 보여주셨습니다. 천국은 더 이상 질병과 죽음과 가난이 없는 곳이기 때문입니다. 하지만 세례요한은 옥에 갇혀 있어 오실 분(메시아)이 당신이 맞는지 아니면 다른 이를 기다려야 하는지 묻습니다. 우리도 현실을 돌이켜 볼 때 여전히 육신의 질병과 물질적 가난, 마음의 근심과 핍박으로 인하여 예수님에 대한 믿음이 흔들릴 때가 있습니다. 그러나 누구든지 나로 말미암아 실족하지 않는 자가 복이 있다는 말씀을 기억하며 끝까지 믿음을 지켜야 합니다.

Jesus was the one who made the blind see, treated leprosy patients, saved the dead, and spread the gospel to the poor. He showed us that he is a true messiah and showed us the reality of heaven. This is because heaven is a place where there is no more disease, death, and poverty. But John the Baptist is locked up in prison and asks if the person (Messiah) coming is you or should you wait for someone else. When we look back on reality, there are still times when our faith in Jesus is shaken by physical illness, material poverty, mental anxiety and oppression. However, anyone who does not lose his footing through me must remember that he is blessed and keep his faith until the end.

 

예수님께서는 여인이 낳은 자 중에 세례요한보다 큰 이가 없다고 했지만 천국에서는 지극히 작은 자도 세례요한보다 큰 자라고 말씀하십니다. 세례요한은 예수 그리스도로 말미암는 구원과 은혜의 시대를 여는 위대한 선지자였지만 그는 그리스도의 보혈로 말미암는 구속의 은혜를 직접 체험하지는 못하였습니다. 뿐만 아니라 그는 주님의 은혜로 완성된 구원의 축복과 기쁨도 누려보지 못하였습니다. 그러기에 그리스도의 십자가 구속 사역 이후 구속의 은총을 입은 은혜의 시대를 사는 성도의 축복과 비교할 때 요한은 신약의 어떤 성도들보도도 작은 자일 수밖에 없습니다. 이처럼 은혜 시대(복음 시대)를 사는 신약 성도의 축복은 크고도 놀랐습니다. 그러므로 우리는 은혜의 시대를 살아가는 천국 백성답게 이 은혜의 시대에 합당한 믿음의 사람들이 됩시다!

Jesus said that no one born by a woman is bigger than John the Baptist, but in heaven, even the smallest one is bigger than John the Baptist. John the Baptist was a great prophet who opened the era of salvation and grace due to Jesus Christ, but he did not directly experience the grace of restraint due to Christ's blood. Nor did he enjoy the blessing and joy of salvation, which was completed by the grace of the Lord. Therefore, compared to the blessing of the saints who live in the age of grace, which is blessed with the grace of restraint after Christ's crucifixion ministry, John is bound to be a small man. As such, the blessing of the New Testament saint living in the age of grace (the age of the gospel) was great and surprising. Therefore, let's be people of faith worthy of this age of grace, just like the people of heaven who live in the age of grace!

 

천국은 침노하는 자의 것입니다(12절). 천국을 침노한다는 말의 진정한 의미는 무엇일까요? 정말 남의 나라를 침략하듯이 천국도 그렇게 힘과 무력을 사용해야 차지할 수 있다는 말일까요? 그렇지 않습니다. 하나님 나라는 죄인들이 구원의 복음을 듣고 그리스도를 영접함으로써 사단의 사슬에서 풀려나 하나님의 거룩한 백성이 될 때만이 소유할 수 있습니다. 그러기에 천국을 얻기 위한 사단과의 싸움은 혈과 육의 싸움이 아니요 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악한 영과의 싸움입니다(엡 6:12). 이 일은 단호한 결단과 필사의 각오가 없이는 도저히 불가능합니다. 그렇기 때문에 사단의 권세에서 풀려나 하나님의 나라를 소유하는 것은 침노요, 도전이며, 모험인 것입니다.

Heaven belongs to those who invade (v. 12). What is the true meaning of the word to invade heaven? Does it really mean that, just like invading other countries, heaven can also be occupied by using force and force? It's not like that. The kingdom of God can be possessed only when sinners hear the gospel of salvation and receive Christ and are released from the chains of Satan and become God's holy people. Therefore, the fight against Satan to gain the kingdom of heaven is not a battle between flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the dark world and the evil spirits in heaven (Ephesians 6:12). This task is impossible without firm determination and mortal resolution. Therefore, to be released from the power of Satan and possess the kingdom of God is a threat, a challenge, and an adventure.

 

우리는 세례요한과 같이 어려움이 있더라도 예수님이 오실 그분이라는 믿음이 흔들리지 말고 은혜의 시대에 합당한 믿음의 사람이 되며 천국을 침노하는 자가 됩시다!

Like John the Baptist, let us not waver in our faith that Jesus is the one to come, even if we face difficulties, and become people of faith worthy of the age of grace and invaders of heaven!

 

하나님, 저희가 세례요한과 같은 어려움 가운데서도 예수님에 대한 믿음이 흔들리지 않고 은혜의 시대에 합당한 믿음의 사람이 되며 영적 싸움에서 승리하는 천국을 침노하는 자가 되게 하소서!

God, help us not to waver in our faith in Jesus even in the midst of difficulties like John the Baptist, to become people of faith worthy of the age of grace, and to become victors in the spiritual battle and invaders of heaven!
