대부분의 사람은 사회적 신분과 체면을 위해 자기감정을 표출하지 않고 절제하는 것을 미덕으로 여깁니다. Most people consider it a virtue to restrain themselves not express their emotions for the sake of social status and face. 그런데 이런 사회적 체면치레를 예배에 적용하는 것은 곤란합니다. However, it is difficult to apply such social formalities to worship. 하나님은 우리가 전심을 다해 예배할 분이기 때문입니다. Because God is the One we should worship with all our hearts. 언약궤가 예루살렘으로 들어오는 날, 온 백성과 왕이 하나님의 임재 앞에서 기뻐 뛰놀았습니다. On the day the Ark of the Covenant entered Jerusalem, all the people and the king rejoiced in the presence of God. 그러나 단 한 사람 미갈은 이런 왕의 모습을 체통을 지키지 못한 미숙한 행위로 보았습니다. But only one person, Michal, saw this behavior of the king as an immature act that did not preserve dignity. 다윗도 하나님 앞에서는 왕이 아니라, 백성 중 하나라는 사실을 알지 못했던 것입니다. David also did not realize that he was not a king before God, but just one of the people.

□말씀과 나눔 Words and Sharing

 

1. 언약궤 이송을 앞두고, 다윗은 이전 실수를 반복하지 않으려 노력합니다(1~15절)

1. Before transporting the Ark of the Covenant, David tries not to repeat his previous mistakes (verses 1-15)

1) 레위인만 언약궤를 메게 한 이유는 무엇입니까(2절; 참조 민4:15)

1) Why were only the Levites allowed to carry the Ark of the Covenant (v. 2; see also Num. 4:15)

2 다윗이 이르되 레위 사람 외에는 하나님의 궤를 멜 수 없나니 이는 여호와께서 그들을 택하사 여호와의 궤를 메고 영원히 그를 섬기게 하셨음이라 하고

2 Then David said, "No one may carry the ark of God except the Levites, for the Lord has chosen them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister to him forever."

민 4:15 진영을 떠날 때에 아론과 그의 아들들이 성소와 성소의 모든 기구 덮는 일을 마치거든 고핫 자손들이 와서 멜 것이니라 그러나 성물은 만지지 말라 그들이 죽으리라 회막 물건 중에서 이것들은 고핫 자손이 멜 것이며

Num. 4:15 When the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons shall finish covering the sanctuary and all the utensils of the sanctuary; then the sons of Kohath shall come and carry them. But they shall not touch the holy things, or they shall die. These are the things of the tabernacle of meeting that the sons of Kohath shall carry.

여호와의 궤가 거룩하신 하나님의 임재를 나타내므로 아무나 만짐으로 죽임을 당하지 않게 하기 위해 레위 자손만이 궤를 메어 옮기게 했습니다.

Since the Ark of the Lord represented the presence of the Holy God, only the Levites were allowed to carry the Ark so that no one would be put to death by touching it.

 

2) 언약궤를 메는 레위인은 자기 몸을 어떻게 해야 합니까(12,14절)? 2) What should the Levites who carry the Ark of the Covenant do with their bodies (verses 12, 14)?

12 그들에게 이르되 너희는 레위 사람의 지도자이니 너희와 너희 형제는 몸을 성결하게 하고 내가 마련한 곳으로 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 궤를 메어 올리라

14 이에 제사장들과 레위 사람들이 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 궤를 메고 올라가려 하여 몸을 성결하게 하고

12 He said to them, “You are the leaders of the Levites. Consecrate yourselves, you and your brothers, to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, to the place I have prepared for you. 14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.

 

언약궤를 메는 레위인은 자기 몸을 성결하게 해야 합니다.

The Levites who carry the Ark of the Covenant must sanctify themselves.

 

3) 다윗이 이전에 언약궤를 예루살렘으로 옮기려다가 실패한 이유는 무엇입니까(13절)?

3) Why did David fail in his previous attempt to move the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem (v. 13)?

13 전에는 너희가 메지 아니하였으므로 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리를 찢으셨으니 이는 우리가 규례대로 그에게 구하지 아니하였음이라 하니

13 But because you did not bear it before, the LORD our God has torn us apart, because we did not seek him according to the custom.”

 

레위인이 언약궤를 메지 아니하였으므로

Because the Levites did not carry the Ark of the Covenant,

 

<나눔 1> 아무리 선한 일일지라도 하나님의 말씀대로 하지 않는다면 결국 실패할 수밖에 없습니다. <Sharing 1> No matter how good a thing is, if it is not done according to God’s word, it will ultimately fail. 내게 맡기신 하나님의 선한 일은 무엇입니까? What is the good work that God has entrusted to me? 그 일을 어떤 과정과 방식으로 이루고 있는지 나눠 봅시다. Let's share the process and method by which we accomplish that task.

 

하나님께서 우리에게 맡기신 선한 일은 전도와 선교 사역입니다. 이 일을 이루어 나가는 과정과 방식을 하나님의 말씀과 뜻에 부합하도록 이루어 나가야 할 것입니다.

The good work that God has entrusted to us is evangelism and missionary work. The process and method of carrying out this work must be carried out in accordance with God’s word and will.

 

<나눔 2> 언약궤를 옮기는 일은 하나님의 거룩함을 접촉하는 일입니다. <Sharing 2> Moving the Ark of the Covenant is an act of coming into contact with the holiness of God. 그러므로 언약궤를 메는 사람은 반드시 자기 몸을 성결하게 해야 합니다. Therefore, the one who carries the Ark of the Covenant must sanctify himself. 거룩하신 하나님 앞에 나아가는 우리는 어떻게 자신을 성결하게 해야 하는지 나눠 봅시다. Let us discuss how we should sanctify ourselves as we approach the holy God.

 

말과 행실이 거룩하신 하나님을 본받아 모든 사람에게 본을 보이는 삶을 살아야 합니다.

We must live a life that imitates the holy God in words and actions, setting an example for everyone.

 

2. 모두 하나님을 높여 찬양할 때, 사울의 딸이며 다윗의 아내인 미갈은 냉소적으로 바라봅니다(16~29절)

2. When everyone praises God, Michal, Saul's daughter and David's wife, looks on with a cold heart (vv. 16-29).

1) 다윗은 레위 지파 지도자들에게 어떤 명령을 내립니까(16절)?

1) What command does David give to the leaders of the tribe of Levi (verse 16)?

16 다윗이 레위 사람의 어른들에게 명령하여 그의 형제들을 노래하는 자들로 세우고 비파와 수금과 제금 등의 악기를 울려서 즐거운 소리를 크게 내라 하매

16 Then David commanded the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers, playing harps, lyres, and cymbals to make loud sounds for joy.

 

다윗은 레위 사람의 지도자들에게 명령하여 그의 형제들을 노래하는 자들로 세우고 비파와 수금과 제금 등의 악기를 울려서 즐거운 소리를 크게 내라 합니다.

David commanded the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers, playing harps, lyres, and cymbals to make loud sounds for joy.

 

2) 언약궤가 이동할 때 레위인, 백성, 다윗은 무엇을 하며 이동합니까(27~29절; 참조 삼하6:14)

27 David and the Levites who carried the ark, along with Kenaniah the chief singer and all the singers, were all clothed in linen robes. David also wore a linen ephod. 28 All Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, blowing trumpets and horns, playing cymbals, harps and lyres, and making loud noises. 29 As the ark of the covenant of the LORD was coming into the City of David, Michal, Saul's daughter, looked out of her window and saw King David dancing and leaping; and she was displeased in her heart.

삼하 6:14 다윗이 여호와 앞에서 힘을 다하여 춤을 추는데 그 때에 다윗이 베 에봇을 입었더라

2 Samuel 6:14 Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod.

레위인과 백성은 온갖 악기를 연주하며 찬양을 드렸고 다윗은 여호와 앞에서 힘을 다하여 춤을 추었습니다.

The Levites and the people praised the LORD, playing all kinds of musical instruments, while David danced before the LORD with all his might.

 

3) 사울의 딸 미갈은 다윗이 춤추는 것을 보며 어떤 마음을 품습니까(29절)?

3) What did Saul's daughter Michal think when she saw David dancing (verse 29)?

29 여호와의 언약궤가 다윗 성으로 들어올 때에 사울의 딸 미갈이 창으로 내다보다가 다윗 왕이 춤추며 뛰노는 것을 보고 그 마음에 업신여겼더라

29 As the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the City of David, Michal, Saul's daughter, looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and leaping; and she was displeased in her heart.

 

사울의 딸 미갈은 창으로 내다보다가 다윗 왕이 춤추며 뛰노는 것을 보고 그 마음에 업신여겼습니다.

Saul's daughter Michal looked out the window and saw King David dancing and jumping around, and she was displeased.

 

<나눔 3> 왕도, 백성도 한마음이 되어 하나님을 찬양하는데 유독 미갈만 이 상황을 냉소적으로 바라봅니다. <Sharing 3> The king and the people were of one mind in praising God, but Michal alone looked at the situation with a cold heart. 그녀는 체면을 우선시하느라 하나님을 찬양하는 마음을 도무지 공감하지 못합니다. Because of her concern for dignity, she just could not understand why David praised God. 하나님을 즐거워하고 예배하는 마음을 막는 것은 무엇입니까?

What factors hinder your heart rejoicing in God and worshiping Him?

자신의 지위와 다른 사람을 의식하는 마음이 마음껏 하나님을 찬양하고 경배하는 데 방해가 될 수 있습니다.

Our self-consciousness about our status and about others can hinder us from praising and worshiping God to our heart's content.
