The Lord is mine, I am His
Song of Solomon 2:8-17
The winter of longing and yearning has passed, and the spring of love and fruitful blossoms has come. The man comes to the woman and proposes, and the woman accepts the proposal, telling him to come quickly.
He says that a pack of foxes is destroying the vineyards in full bloom, so they must hurry out and catch the young foxes. At the man's urging, the woman finally opens her mouth. "You are mine, and I am yours," she says, accepting his proposal and telling him to hurry and come back before the sun sets.
The man runs quickly like a swift deer to see his beloved (8-14). He conveys his earnest love through the woman’s room window, carrying the sound of spring coming. The woman also saw him coming, and opened her ear through the window so as not to miss even the sound of his breathing. Jesus also runs to us as if he is looking for his beloved, and will enrich our daily lives like a spring garden full of life.
When the love of lovers is not yet ripe, a pack of foxes will come and destroy the vineyard (15). However, the more this happens, the more true and solid the love will be. What are the foxes that are interfering with the love relationship now? Let us trust more and love more so that no one can find a way between the two.
Lord, please fill the gap between You and me, and my loved one and me so that suspicion, distrust, and hatred do not enter!
