Righteous and Faithful God

 

Psalm 111:1-10

 

The poet, filled with emotion, publicly praises God in the community. God’s greatness and righteousness are revealed through the many wonderful things He has done. Therefore, it is also grace that God has made these things known to people and made them remember them. God remembers the covenant He made with His people forever. Therefore, He has always fed His people and given them the nations as His inheritance. He has also given His covenant people laws established with truth and honesty. It is true wisdom to fear such a God and keep such laws.

 

He works miracles for those who fear Him (4,5,9,10). He not only saves His people, but He also promises to be with them forever, and He feeds and protects them in the wilderness according to His promise. Everything that God does is a miracle. Therefore, those who keep the commandments encounter miracles every day, just like the people in the wilderness. Have I experienced what God has done?

 

The proper response of those who see and hear what God has done is to be thankful and happy (1,2). This is because God's work is true and righteous. The church is a community of honest people who rejoice and delight in God's work. We must look for what God has done, rejoice, and encourage each other in it.

 

God, help us to witness and recall the great things You have done and continue to do.
