Heart of God

Heart of God

Jeremiah 12:7-17

God says he forsook his house and threw away his possessions and gave them into the hands of his enemies. It is said that he hated his possessions because they roared towards him like a lion in the forest. Many shepherds have torn down and trampled God's vineyard, making the land he delights in a wasteland. Because of the Lord's anger, the crowd planted wheat but reaped thorns and toiled, but there was no profit. After uprooting all the evil neighbors and the house of Judah, God turns and has pity on them and leads each one back to their inheritance and land. If they diligently learn the ways of God's people and swear in the name of the living LORD, they will be built up. But if they do not obey, God will surely uproot and destroy them.

God abandons his house and throws his possessions into the hands of his enemies. This is because his possessions, his people, roared and rebelled against him like lions in the forest. He lets the people who are trying to rebel against God's control experience the misery of life without God. There is no freer, safer, more abundant life than in the arms of God.

Not only does God not completely abandon Israel, but He also opens the way of salvation to Gentile nations (14-17). Even enemies will swear in the name of God instead of Baal, and if they obey God's way, they will be saved, but if they do not obey, they will be pulled out. The standard of God's abandonment and establishment is faith and obedience. The choice is yours.

Even though the whole land is in ruins, no one cares about this (v. 11). No one asks why God is so angry, and no one understands God's hidden sorrow. Perhaps what the church of this era needs is not a wonderful space, but a sympathy that looks at the era with God's heart and regards the pain of the era as my problem and suffers together?

God, look at the age with Your heart and regard the pain of the age as my problem and let us suffer together!
