Don't be afraid

 

Jeremiah 1:1-10

 

Among the priests of Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, Jeremiah son of Hilkiah was called by God in the 13th year of Josiah king of Judah (B.C. 627), and the word of God until he was taken captive to Babylon in May of the 11th year of Jehoiakim and Zedekiah (B.C. 586). When God appeared to Jeremiah for the first time, he said, "I consecrated you before I conceived you in your mother's womb and made you a prophet to many nations. But Jeremiah said that I was a child and could not speak. But God said to Jeremiah, "Do not say, 'I am a child,' Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak. "Do not be afraid of them, For I am with you to deliver you," God promise.

 

 

 

God consecrated Jeremiah even before he was born and raised him up as a prophet to many nations. God chose us before the foundation of the world and made us servants of God. Jeremiah said, "I am a child, I do not know how to speak," but God said, "Don't say that you are a child, but go and tell them whoever I send you to." And do not be afraid of them; I am with you and will save you. Don't say that we are also children. No matter who God sends us to, we must preach the word of God. And we should not be afraid of them, but trust in the promise that God will be with us and deliver us.

 

 

Jeremiah was called by God in the 13th year of King Josiah of Judah (B.C. 627) and preached the word of God until he was taken captive to Babylon in May in the 11th year of Jehoiakim and Zedekiah (B.C. 586). He took on a mission in Judah's darkest times. We also talk about the problems of this era (homosexuality, school violence, abortion, neglect of children, suicide, divorce, decline of school authority, various diseases, discharge of contaminated water from Fukushima, bitcoin, voice phishing, drug, alcohol, game addiction, decrease in Sunday school, etc.) With awareness and empathy, we must feel keenly the pain of this age and fulfill the mission of preaching the word of God.

 

God, let us, like the prophet Jeremiah, feel pain in this age and fulfill the mission of conveying the word of God! Let anyone preach the word of God, trusting in the promise that You will be with us and save us!
