Gift

 

Numbers 18:1-7

 

 

Yahweh said to Aaron, You and your sons bear the sin against the sanctuary and the sin against the priesthood. And he tells you to bring your brothers, the tribe of Levi, to help you. The Levites are ordered to keep your duties and all the duties of the tabernacle, but not near the utensils of the sanctuary and the altar. The Levites and Aaron work together to do all the work of the tabernacle and the tent of meeting, so that outsiders cannot come near. God gave Aaron a Levite as a gift to work in the Tent of Meeting. He also gave the priesthood as a gift to Aaron and his sons to take charge of it.

 

God told Aaron and his sons to bear the sins against the sanctuary and the sins of the priesthood, and the Levites helped them. Jesus took our sins on the cross as a better priest than Aaron and became the mediator between God and us. We are called to be a royal priesthood. However, we must respect and love each other according to our duties and fulfill our precious duties well.

 

God gave Aaron the Levites as a gift so that they could jointly handle the work of the Tent of Meeting, and gave the priesthood to Aaron and his sons to take charge. And God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit as a gift. For the glory of God and the good of the community, we must use our God-given gifts in unity.

 

God, thank You for making us a royal priesthood through the grace of the cross of Jesus, the mediator of the covenant that is better than Aaron. Let us respect and love each other according to the positions God has given us, and use the gifts God has given us in unity for the glory of God and the benefit of the community!
