The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone

The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone

Matthew 21:33-46

Another parable Jesus explained to the chief priests and elders was that a landlord planted a vineyard, rented it out to farmers, and went away. When the fruit was harvested, the master sent his servants to reap the fruit. The farmers beat and killed the master's servants, so the master sent other servants, but the farmers did the same to them. The owner sent his son this time, but the farmers killed the son as well. Jesus asks the religious leaders what will the owner of the vineyard do to the farmers? Religious leaders say that the owner will exterminate them and give the vineyards as leases to other farmers who can offer the grapes in time.

Jesus said, "Have you not read that the stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; this was done by the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes." He who falls on it will be broken, and this stone will fall on him and it will crush him and scatter him. The chief priests and Pharisees realize that he is talking about them and try to arrest Jesus, but they are afraid of the people and cannot catch him. This is because people regarded Jesus as a prophet.

Jesus is the Son of God, but he is killed by evil farmers (religious leaders). God will annihilate the wicked farmers (religious leaders) and give the vineyard as a lease to other farmers who will offer the fruit in time. Let us work diligently and give good fruits to God.

Like the stone the builders rejected, Jesus was killed outside the gates of Jerusalem, but he was resurrected and became the head of the corner (the head of the church). Let us unite with each other in Jesus, the head of the church, to be built up as the body of the church.

The religious leaders did not repent and tried to catch Jesus, but they were afraid of people and could not catch him. They are not afraid of God, who should be feared, but are afraid of people. We must fear God more than man and live an upright life.

God, thank You for Your love for sending Your son for us, and let us work diligently and give You good fruits! Let us unite with each other in Jesus, who is the cornerstone, to build the body of Christ, the church! Let us fear You more than people and live a righteous life!
