Counsel to Children and Parents, Servants and Masters

Counsel to Children and Parents, Servants and Masters

Ephesians 6:1-9

The Apostle Paul exhorts children, parents, servants and masters.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord and honor your parents, so that you may prosper and live long (13). Also, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord (4).

And, servants, obey your masters of the flesh with fear and sincerity, as to Christ, not blindly, as those who please men, but sincerely, as servants of Christ, do the will of God. Paul exhorts them to know that both their and your master are in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.

Children have a duty to honor their parents, and parents have a duty to teach their children in love. A family that fulfills its responsibilities toward each other instead of asserting its own rights will be filled with the peace, rest, and blessings of life that God has promised. What should I do right now to create a peaceful and restful home?

Christians must work with sincerity and integrity, whether their superiors see them or not. In addition, superiors should not use their position to treat subordinates or the weak. Do I treat people with integrity and respect, regardless of their position in the workplace and in society?

God, let children obey and respect their parents, parents do not provoke their children to anger, but raise them with the discipline and admonition of the Lord. And may subordinates work faithfully, and may superiors do not treat subordinates carelessly!
