Serve God with sincere thanks for the grace!

 

Hebrews 9:11-22

 

Jesus Christ came as the High Priest of the good things to come and entered the Holy of Holies once for all, making eternal redemption with His own blood, not goats and calves, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. The author asks the question, will not the blood of Jesus Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works and serve God?

Just as a will takes effect only when a person dies, Jesus, as the mediator of the new covenant, died to atone for the sins committed in the first covenant so that those who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance. The first covenant was not established without blood, but according to the law of Moses, they took the blood of animals and hyssop, sprinkled them with blood, were purified, and their sins were forgiven.

 

Jesus entered the heavenly sanctuary once for all, having obtained eternal redemption with His own blood. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses our conscience from dead works and enables us to serve God. We must serve God with sincere gratitude for the grace that has granted us the Atonement and the promise of an eternal inheritance.

 

We give thanks, praise, and glory to God our Father who did not spare his only begotten Son and for the grace of Jesus Christ, who accomplished eternal redemption through his own blood and entered the heavenly sanctuary once for all, so that our consciences may receive the promise of a clean and eternal inheritance from dead works. Lift up and serve God with all your heart, will, and devotion!
