1 Samuel 11:1-15

 

Nahash the Ammonite fought against Jabesh Gilead of Israel. The men of Jabesh tried to make peace with Nahash, but Nahaz insulted all Israel, saying that he would make a covenant with you by taking out all of your right eyes. So the elders of Jabez sent messengers to all Israel to inform them of this, asking for an end for seven days. When Saul, who was tending the cattle, heard these words, he was greatly moved by the Spirit of God, and became very angry. He slaughtered a yoke of cattle, cut them into pieces, and sent them out through the hands of messengers throughout Israel. And 330,000 soldiers gathered at Beshek. The next day Saul divides his army into three groups and destroys the Ammonites. And Samuel made Saul king before the Lord at Gilgal and offered a peace offering.

 

God moved Saul to be greatly moved by the Spirit of God, and he rescued the Israelites from their troubles from Nahash the Ammonite. Are you in the midst of difficulties? Trust in God who will save us through a man of God who is greatly moved by the Spirit of God.

 

Instead of using Saul to defeat the enemies by himself, he made this fact known to all the tribes of Israel and gathered all his strength to win. We should not try to do it alone, but let us know the difficult facts and work together to overcome difficulties together.
