Three Testimonies
John 5:30-47
Jesus defends himself by presenting three testimonies. But the Jews, who long for the glory of men, do not recognize the One who came in the name of God the Father.
Jesus is the Son of God that Moses and John testified, God testifies with the voice of heaven, and the Bible testifies. Above all, Jesus performed many miracles that could not be performed except by the Son of God. He also proved that he is the Good Shepherd through acts of compassion, love, and sacrifice. Learn who the Lord is through today's Word, and experience His work through obedience.
The Jews did not believe in Jesus despite many testimonies. It was because they did not have a heart to love God and sought only the glory of men. There is no place for Jesus in self-centered faith. Check to see if I have a heart to love the Lord and if I have the will to follow His word.
God, help me to become a person who desires your approval rather than the praise of others!
