It's not a command, it's a plea!

Philemon 1:1–16

Paul and Timothy wrote to the Philemon family, brothers of faith, praying that grace and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus be with the Philemon family. Paul prays for it to come. And Paul begs Philemon, not a command, but a request to forgive the transformed Onesimus and accept him as his beloved brother in the Lord. Paul asks Philemon not to command him as an apostle, but to accept him as a brother in the Lord, not a slave, voluntarily, not reluctantly.

God our Father and our Lord Jesus have given us grace and peace so that we may become brothers in the Lord. As we write for each other, let's pray that our fellowship of faith will deepen so that we may realize all good works and come to Christ.

Even in prison, Paul met Onesimus, and just as Onesimus was transformed, so let's communicate with others so that we can be transformed and used together for the glory of the Lord! And let's be courteous, loving and accepting each other, as Paul begged Philemon, not a command, to do these things voluntarily, not reluctantly!

God, thank you for your grace to become one brother in the Lord, and help us to change each other through precious encounters with our brothers! Guide me to be used for your glory, voluntarily in love, not by command!
