Have the mind of Jesus Christ!
Philippians 2:5-18
Paul tells us to have the mind of Jesus Christ in order to achieve unity in the community. That mind is one of self-emptying, humbling, and sacrificing.
Just as God exalted Jesus, who humbled himself, to be the Lord of all things, so He makes His children, who live blameless and pure lives in a crooked and twisted world, shine like stars in the sky. The Lord demands of us a distinct appearance that the world will admire and be moved by, but doesn’t our current appearance resemble the world that is full of complaints and quarrels?
Paul says that he will be a sacrifice for the faith of the Philippian believers (verses 16-18). This is a confession that he is willing to sacrifice himself so that the life he has run and worked hard until now will not be in vain. Who should we be the welcome gift for salvation now?
Let us learn the sacrifice and obedience of Jesus Christ by becoming like Him in His humble heart!
