어떤 경우에는 자녀의 잘못을 모른 척하고 넘어가지만, 잘못을 지적하고 엄하게 꾸짖을 때가 있습니다. In some cases, we pretend not to notice our children's mistakes and move on, but there are times when we point out their mistakes and scold them harshly. 자녀가 어릴수록 부모의 이런 태도에 어리둥절할 수 있지만, 성장함에 따라 부모의 반응을 이해하고 받아들일 수 있게 됩니다. When children are younger, they may be puzzled by their parents' attitude, but as they grow older, they become able to understand and accept their parents' reactions. 인격적인 부모는 질책하기만 하거나 용서하기만 하지 않고, 자녀의 행복과 건강을 최우선으로 생각하여 상황마다 적절한 방식을 결정합니다. A parent with character does not just reprimand or forgive, but puts the child's happiness and health first and decides on an appropriate method for each situation. 하나님도 그러하십니다. 하나님은 무조건 우리를 용서하시는 분도, 무조건 징계하시는 분도 아닙니다. God is like that too. God is neither the one who unconditionally forgives us nor the one who unconditionally punishes us. 우리를 위해 오래 참으시지만, 우리를 위해 징계하기도 하십니다. Although he is patient for us, he also disciplines for us.

 

□말씀과 나눔 Words and Sharing

1. 아모스가 먼저 두 가지 환상을 봅니다.(1~6절) 1. Amos first sees two visions.(vv.1~6)

1) 아모스가 본 환상은 각각 무엇입니까(1~4절). 1) What were the visions that Amos saw (verses 1-4)?

첫째, 메뚜기 재앙

1 주 여호와께서 내게 보이신 것이 이러하니라 왕이 풀을 벤 후 풀이 다시 움돋기 시작할 때에 주께서 메뚜기를 지으시매

2 메뚜기가 땅의 풀을 다 먹은지라 내가 이르되 주 여호와여 청하건대 사하소서 야곱이 미약하오니 어떻게 서리이까 하매

3 여호와께서 이에 대하여 뜻을 돌이키셨으므로 이것이 이루어지지 아니하리라 여호와께서 말씀하셨느니라

둘째, 불

4 주 여호와께서 또 내게 보이신 것이 이러하니라 주 여호와께서 명령하여 불로 징벌하게 하시니 불이 큰 바다를 삼키고 육지까지 먹으려 하는지라

1 This is what the Lord GOD showed me: behold, he was forming locusts when the latter growth was just beginning to sprout, and behold, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings. 2 When they had finished eating the grass of the land, I said, “O Lord GOD, please forgive! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!” 3 The LORD relented concerning this: “It shall not be,” said the LORD. 4 This is what the Lord GOD showed me: behold, the Lord GOD was calling for a judgment by fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land.

(1) 첫째 환상(1~2절)

(1) First vision (verses 1-2)

메뚜기가 땅을 풀을 다 먹는 환상

The illusion of grasshoppers eating all the grass on the ground

(2) 둘째 환상(4절) (2) Second vision (verse 4)

불이 큰 바다를 삼키고 육지까지 먹으려 하는 환상 An illusion of fire swallowing up the great sea and trying to eat the land as well.

 

2) 아모스가 하나님께 반복해서 간구하는 내용은 무엇입니까(2, 5절)

2) What does Amos repeatedly ask God for (verses 2, 5)?

2 메뚜기가 땅의 풀을 다 먹은지라 내가 이르되 주 여호와여 청하건대 사하소서 야곱이 미약하오니 어떻게 서리이까 하매

5 이에 내가 이르되 주 여호와여 청하건대 그치소서 야곱이 미약하오니 어떻게 서리이까 하매

2 When they had finished eating the grass of the land, I said, “O Lord GOD, please forgive! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!” 5 Then I said, “O Lord GOD, please cease! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!”

 

아모스가 주 여호와께 청하기를 사하소서 그치소서 야곱이 미약하오니 어떻게 서리이까 합니다.

Amos said(prayed) to the Sovereign LORD, “Please forgive and stop! How can Jacob stand, for he is weak?”

 

3) 아모스의 기도에 하나님이 보여주신 일관된 반응은 무엇입니까(3, 6절)? 3) What is God’s consistent response to Amos’ prayer (verses 3, 6)?

 

3 여호와께서 이에 대하여 뜻을 돌이키셨으므로 이것이 이루어지지 아니하리라 여호와께서 말씀하셨느니라

6 주 여호와께서 이에 대하여 뜻을 돌이켜 주 여호와께서 이르시되 이것도 이루지 아니하리라 하시니라

3 The LORD relented concerning this: “It shall not be,” said the LORD. 6 The LORD relented concerning this: “This also shall not be,” said the Lord GOD.

 

여호와께서 이에 대하여 뜻을 돌이키셨으므로 이것이 이루어지지 아니하리라 말씀하셨느니라

The LORD has changed his mind about this, saying, “This will not happen.”

 

<나눔 1> 하나님은 심판을 예고하셨다가 예언자가 기도할 때마다 그 뜻을 돌이키셨습니다. 이처럼 인간의 불순종보다 하나님의 인내와 긍휼이 더 큽니다.<Sharing 1> God predicted judgment, but changed his mind every time the prophet prayed. In this way, God's patience and mercy are greater than human disobedience. 오래 참고 용서하시는 하나님의 은혜를 경험한 적이 있습니까? Have you ever experienced God’s long-suffering and forgiving grace?

 

흉악범 막가파와 지존파 두목과 행동대원들이 죄를 회개하고 변화된 이야기를 들었습니다.

I heard stories of the leaders and members of the vicious criminals, the Makga Sect and the Most High Sect, repenting their sins and being transformed.

2. 아모스는 하나님이 다림줄을 들고 성벽 곁에 서신 세 번째 환상을 봅니다(7~9절). 2. Amos sees the third vision of God standing by the wall holding a plumb line (verses 7-9).

1) 다림줄을 잡고 계신 하나님이 그의 백성에 관해 어떤 말씀을 하십니까(8절)?

1) What does God, who holds the plumb line, say about his people (verse 8)?

8 여호와께서 내게 이르시되 아모스야 네가 무엇을 보느냐 내가 대답하되 다림줄이니이다 주께서 이르시되 내가 다림줄을 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데 두고 다시는 용서하지 아니하리니

8 And the LORD said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will never again pass by them;

주께서 이르시기를 내가 다림줄을 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데 두고 다시는 용서하지 아니하리라 하십니다.

The Lord says, “I will set a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel, and I will never forgive them any more.”

2) 하나님의 심판이 임할 때 어떤 일들이 일어납니까(9절)?

2) What happens when God’s judgment comes (verse 9)?

9 이삭의 산당들이 황폐되며 이스라엘의 성소들이 파괴될 것이라 내가 일어나 칼로 여로보암의 집을 치리라 하시니라

9 the high places of Isaac shall be made desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste, and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”

이삭의 산당들이 황폐되며 이스라엘의 성소들이 파괴될 것입니다. 하나님께서 일어나 칼로 여로보암의 집을 칠 것입니다.

Isaac's high places will be desolate and Israel's sanctuaries will be destroyed. God will rise up and strike Jeroboam’s house with the sword.

 

<나눔 2> 다림줄은 벽의 수직 상태를 측정하기 위한 도구입니다. <Sharing 2> A plumb line is a tool for measuring the verticality of a wall. 하나님의 말씀은 우리가 죄를 깨닫도록 도와주는 다림줄입니다. The Word of God is a plumb line that helps us realize our sin. 내 생각과 삶은 말씀의 다림줄을 대었을 때 얼마나 일치합니까? How do my thoughts and life match when I put the plumb line of the Word together? 말씀의 다림줄 덕분에 기울고 삐뚤어진 내 삶을 발견하고 바로잡은 경험이 있다면 나눠봅시다. 어려운 자녀 양육에 있어서 또 아비들아 너희 자녀를 노엽게 하지 말고 오직 주의 교양과 훈계로 양육하라(에베소서 6:4 )는 말씀과 고전13장의 사랑장의 내용 중 내가 사람의 방언과 천사의 말을 할지라도 사랑이 없으면 소리 나는 구리와 울리는 꽹과리가 되고

4 사랑은 오래 참고 사랑은 온유하며 시기하지 아니하며 사랑은 자랑하지 아니하며 교만하지 아니하며

5 무례히 행하지 아니하며 자기의 유익을 구하지 아니하며 성내지 아니하며 악한 것을 생각하지 아니하며

6 불의를 기뻐하지 아니하며 진리와 함께 기뻐하고

이 말씀의 다림줄이 저의 기울어지고 삐뚤어진 삶을 바로 잡아 주었습니다.

In difficult raising children, it also says, Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), and in the love chapter of 1 Corinthians 13, love even if I speak in the tongues of men or of angels. Without it, it becomes a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

4 Love is patient, love is kind, love does not envy, love does not boast, is not puffed up.

5 It does not behave rudely, is not self-seeking, is not provoked, keeps no record of evil,

6 It does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices with the truth.

The plumb line of these words straightened out my tilted and crooked life.

 

<나눔 3> 다림줄 환상에는 선지자의 기도가 없습니다. <Sharing 3> There is no prophet’s prayer in the plumb line vision. 하나님의 심판이 확정되었기 때문입니다. Because God’s judgment has been confirmed. 하나님은 한없이 용서하시는 분이 아니며, 징벌의 유보에도 끝이 있습니다. God is not infinitely forgiving, and there is an end to the withholding of punishment. 그때가 이르기 전에 돌이키고 회개해야 할 것은 무엇입니까? What do we need to turn back and repent before that time comes? 잘못을 깨닫게 해달라고 함께 기도합시다. Let us pray together that we may realize our mistakes.

 

우리 자신과 우리 가족, 친척, 성도, 이웃, 그리고 모든 나라의 지도자들과 백성들이 미움, 다툼, 시기, 이기심, 우상숭배 그리고 하나님을 떠난 잘못을 깨닫고 하나님께로 돌이키며 변화된 삶을 살도록 함께 기도드립시다.

Let us pray together so that we, our families, relatives, believers, neighbors, and leaders and people of all countries may realize the mistakes of hatred, strife, jealousy, selfishness, idolatry, and leaving God, and turn to God and live changed lives.

주여, 당신의 말씀의 다림줄에 맞춰 우리의 마음을 점검하고 날마다 우리의 삶을 세워가도록 도와주옵소서.

Lord, help us to check our hearts against the plumb line of Your Word and to build our lives each day.

 

저희 자신과 가족, 친척, 성도, 이웃, 그리고 모든 나라의 지도자들과 백성들이 미움, 다툼, 시기, 이기심, 우상숭배 그리고 하나님을 떠난 잘못을 깨닫고 당신께로 돌이키며 변화된 삶을 살도록 도우소서!

Help us, our families, relatives, believers, neighbors, and leaders and people of all countries realize the mistakes of hatred, strife, jealousy, selfishness, idolatry, and leaving God, and turn to You and live changed lives!
