O Egypt, You Have Fallen!

예레미야 Jeremiah 46:13~28

 

□찬양과 나눔 Praise and Sharing

찬송가 310장 아 하나님의 은혜로 Hymn 310 Oh, by the grace of God

 

지난 주에 어떻게 지냈나요?

How was your last week?

 

유다가 바벨론에 망한 것은 하나님을 의지하지 않고 우상을 섬겼기 때문입니다. The reason Judah fell to Babylon was because they did not rely on God and served idols. 그런데로 유다는 현재 닥친 재앙을 피하려고 애굽을 우상처럼 의지합니다. However, Judah relies on Egypt like an idol to avoid the current disaster. 그들은 믿음과 순종이 아닌, 외세를 의지함으로 위기를 돌파하려 합니다. They try to overcome the crisis by relying on external forces rather than faith and obedience. 과거의 역사가 그들에게 어떤 교훈도 되지 못하고 있습니다. Past history does not teach them any lessons. 애굽은 결코 유다의 안전을 보장할 수 없습니다. Egypt can never guarantee Judah's safety. 애굽도 심판 대상이기 때문입니다.Because Egypt is also subject to judgment. 징계의 시간에는 도피가 아니라 회개가 답입니다. In times of discipline, repentance, not flight, is the answer.

 

□말씀과 나눔 Words and Sharing

1. 유다가 믿었던 애굽은 불타고 황폐해질 것입니다(13~19절)

1. Egypt, which Judah believed in, will be burned and devastated (verses 13-19)

1) 하나님이 애굽에 관해 예레미야에게 주신 말씀은 무엇입니까?(13~17절) 1) What did God say to Jeremiah about Egypt? (verses 13-17)

 

(렘 46:13) ○바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕이 와서 애굽 땅을 칠 일에 대하여 선지자 예레미야에게 이르신 여호와의 말씀이라 렘43:10, 렘43:11

(렘 46:14) ○너희는 애굽에 선포하며 믹돌과 놉과 다바네스에 선포하여 말하기를 너희는 굳건히 서서 준비하라 네 사방이 칼에 삼키웠느니라 렘43:8, 사1:20

(렘 46:15) 너희 장사들이 쓰러짐은 어찌함이냐 그들이 서지 못함은 여호와께서 그들을 몰아내신 까닭이니라 사66:15

(렘 46:16) 그가 많은 사람을 넘어지게 하시매 사람이 사람 위에 엎드러지며 이르되 일어나라 우리가 포악한 칼을 피하여 우리 민족에게로, 우리 고향으로 돌아가자 하도다

(렘 46:17) 그들이 그 곳에서 부르짖기를 애굽의 바로 왕이 망하였도다 그가 기회를 놓쳤도다

 

(Jer 46:13) ○ This is the word of the Lord, which He spoke to Jeremiah the prophet regarding Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon coming and attacking the land of Egypt: Jer 43:10, Jer 43:11

(Jer 46:14) Proclaim in Egypt, and proclaim in Migdol, and in Nob, and in Tabaneth, saying, Stand firm, and be ready, for the sword hath devoured you round about. Jer 43:8, Isa 1:20

(Jer 46:15) Why are your warriors fallen? They cannot stand, because the LORD has driven them out. Isaiah 66:15

(Jer 46:16) He caused many to fall, and one fell upon another, saying, “Arise, let us return to our people and to our own country, that we may escape from the sword of violence.”

(Jer 46:17) They cried there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is ruined; he has lost his opportunity.

 

애굽이 바벨론의 군대에게 사방으로 에워싸여 칼에 쓰러지고 망할 것이다.

Egypt will be surrounded on all sides by the armies of Babylon, and will fall by the sword and be destroyed.

 

2) 바벨론 군대가 위용을 드러낼 때 애굽은 어떻게 됩니까(18~19절)?

2) What happens to Egypt when the Babylonian army shows its might (verses 18-19)?

 

(렘 46:18) 만군의 여호와라 일컫는 왕이 이르시되 나의 삶으로 맹세하노니 그가 과연 산들 중의 다볼 같이, 해변의 갈멜 같이 오리라

(렘 46:19) 애굽에 사는 딸이여 너는 너를 위하여 포로의 짐을 꾸리라 놉이 황무하며 불에 타서 주민이 없을 것임이라

 

(Jer 46:18) Thus saith the king, who is called Jehovah of hosts, As I live, he will come as Tabor in the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea.

(Jer 46:19) O daughter of Egypt, pack for yourself the burden of the captives: for Nob shall be desolate, scorched with fire, without an inhabitant.

 

애굽은 바벨론 군대에 의해 불에 타서 황폐해질 것이다.

Egypt will be burned and devastated by the Babylonian army.

 

<나눔1> 유다는 애굽을 구원의 동아줄로 알고 붙잡았으나, 애굽마저 하나님의 심판을 받아 예루살렘처럼 불타고 말았습니다.<Sharing 1> Judah held on to Egypt, thinking it would be a source of salvation, but even Egypt was judged by God and burned like Jerusalem. 내가 굳게 믿고 의지한 것이 도움이 되지 못하거나, 도리어 해가 된 경험이 있다면 나눠봅시다. If you have an experience where something you firmly believed in and relied on did not help or was actually harmful, let's share.

 

신용카드 사용과 오피스텔 구입 등이 도리어 경제적인 어려운 문제를 가중시켰습니다. The use of credit cards and the purchase of officetels have actually added to economic difficulties.

 

2. 하나님은 심판 중에도 구원의 소망을 남겨놓으십니다(20~28절).

2. God leaves us hope for salvation even during judgment (verses 20-28).

 

1) 암송아지, 쇠파리, 뱀, 벌목하는 자는 각각 무엇을 상징합니까?(20~24절) 1) What do the heifer, horsefly, snake, and lumberjack each symbolize? (verses 20-24)

 

 

(렘 46:20) 애굽은 심히 아름다운 암송아지일지라도 북으로부터 쇠파리 떼가 줄곧 오리라 호10:11

(렘 46:21) 또 그 중의 고용꾼은 살진 수송아지 같아서 돌이켜 함께 도망하고 서지 못하였나니 재난의 날이 이르렀고 벌 받는 때가 왔음이라

(렘 46:22) 애굽의 소리가 뱀의 소리 같으리니 이는 그들의 군대가 벌목하는 자 같이 도끼를 가지고 올 것임이라

(렘 46:23) 여호와의 말씀이니라 그들이 황충보다 많아서 셀 수 없으므로 조사할 수 없는 그의 수풀을 찍을 것이라 삿6:5

(렘 46:24) 딸 애굽이 수치를 당하여 북쪽 백성의 손에 붙임을 당하리로다

 

(Jer 46:20) Although Egypt is a very beautiful heifer, swarms of flies will continue to come from the north. Hosea 10:11

(Jer 46:21) And the hirelings among them were like fattened bulls; they turned and fled together, and did not stand; for the day of calamity has come, and the time of punishment has come.

(Jer 46:22) The voice of Egypt will be like the voice of a serpent; for their armies will come like fellers with axes.

(Jer 46:23) They will cut down his bushes, which cannot be numbered, because they are more numerous than locusts, declares the LORD. Judges 6:5

(Jer 46:24) The daughter of Egypt will be put to shame and given into the hand of the people of the north.

 

(1) 암송아지(20절) : Heifer (verse 20): 애굽 Egypt

(2) 쇠파리 떼(20절) : Swarm of stable flies (verse 20): 바벨론 Babylon

(3) 뱀(22절) : Snake (verse 22): 애굽 Egypt

(4) 벌목하는 자(22절) : He who cuts down trees (verse 22): 바벨론 Babylon

 

2) 하나님이 애굽을 심판하시면서도 남겨놓으신 은혜는 무엇입니까?(25~26절) 2) What grace did God leave behind while judging Egypt? (verses 25-26)

 

(렘 46:25) 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 말씀하시니라 보라 내가 노의 아몬과 바로와 애굽과 애굽 신들과 왕들 곧 바로와 및 그를 의지하는 자들을 벌할 것이라 렘44:30, 겔32:11

(렘 46:26) 내가 그들의 생명을 노리는 자의 손 곧 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕의 손과 그 종들의 손에 넘기리라 그럴지라도 그 후에는 그 땅이 이전 같이 사람 살 곳이 되리라 여호와의 말씀이니라

 

(Jer 46:25) Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will punish Amon of Noh, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, and the gods of Egypt, and the kings, even Pharaoh, and them that trust in him. Jer. 44:30, Ezekiel 32:11

(Jer 46:26) I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of his servants; then the land will be inhabited as it was before, declares the LORD.

 

애굽을 바벨론의 손에 넘기시겠지만, 그 후에는 애굽에 이전같이 사람이 살게 하실 것이다.

He will deliver Egypt into the hands of Babylon, but after that, He will allow Egypt to be populated as before.

 

3) 하나님은 유다 백성을 징계하시더라도 어떤 소망을 남겨놓으십니까?(27~28절) 3) Even though God disciplines the people of Judah, what hope does He leave behind? (verses 27-28)

 

(렘 46:27) ○내 종 야곱아 두려워하지 말라 이스라엘아 놀라지 말라 보라 내가 너를 먼 곳에서 구원하며 네 자손을 포로된 땅에서 구원하리니 야곱이 돌아와서 평안하며 걱정 없이 살게 될 것이라 그를 두렵게 할 자 없으리라

(렘 46:28) 여호와의 말씀이니라 내 종 야곱아 내가 너와 함께 있나니 두려워하지 말라 내가 너를 흩었던 그 나라들은 다 멸할지라도 너는 사라지지 아니하리라 내가 너를 법도대로 징계할 것이요 결코 무죄한 자로 여기지 아니하리라 하시니라

 

(Jer 46:27) Do not fear, my servant Jacob; do not be dismayed, O Israel; behold, I will save you from afar, and I will save your descendants from the land of captivity; and Jacob will return and live in peace and without worry. No one will make him afraid. lira

(Jer 46:28) Do not fear, my servant Jacob, for I am with you, declares the LORD. I will destroy all the nations where I have scattered you, but you will not pass away. I will discipline you according to my judgment, and I will not hold you guiltless. He said he would do it.

 

유다 백성을 포로로 잡아갔던 나라가 다 망하더라도, 하나님이 그곳에서 유다 백성을 구원하실 것이다.

Even if the country that took the people of Judah into captivity falls, God will save the people of Judah from there.

 

<나눔2> 하나님은 유다 백성을 징계하고 난 후에 회복시킬 것을 약속하셨습니다. <Sharing 2> God promised to restore the people of Judah after disciplining them. 그러므로 하나님에게 징계받을 때, 피하지 말고 회개해야 합니다. Therefore, when you are disciplined by God, you should not avoid it but repent. 하나님의 징계인 줄 깨닫고 회개한 경험이 있다면 나눠봅시다. If you have an experience where you realized it was God's discipline and repented, let's share it.

 

코로나 기간 중 아내의 허락을 받지 않고 해외 단기 선교 여행을 실패한 후, 하나님께 회개하였습니다.

After failing to go on a short-term missionary trip abroad without my wife's permission during the coronavirus pandemic, I repented to God.

 

□함께 기도드려요 Let's pray together

 

사랑하는 하나님, 저희가 변하고 흔들리는 것 대신에 오직 신실하신 하나님만 의지하게 하소서!

Dear God, may we rely only on You, the only faithful God, instead of relying on changing and shakeable things.

징계의 순간을 모면하려 애쓰기보다 정직하게 회개하는 경건함을 갖게 하소서!

Rather than trying to avoid the moment of discipline, please help us have the godliness to honestly repent!
