Is it hypocrisy or dedication?
Mark 12:35-44
* Jesus Christ came as a descendant of David but became David’s Lord (35-37)
* Beware of the hypocrisy of Torah scholars
They like to wear robes, they like to be greeted in the marketplace, they like to sit in high places in synagogues, they like to sit in the highest places at banquets, they swallow up widows' property and pray long to be seen by others - > They will receive a harsher judgment. (38-40)
* Jesus praising the widow’s two mites (41-44)
Lord, although you came as a descendant of David, help us follow your teachings as David’s Lord! Let us beware of the hypocrisy of the scribes and give our all like the widow who gave two mites!
