매일성경

Come back, come back

Come back, come back

Jeremiah 13:15-27

Jehovah once again tells the people of Jerusalem to listen carefully. He says not to be arrogant. Give glory to the Lord your God before he causes darkness. If you do not listen, my soul will weep and weep for your arrogance. And you tell the king and queen to humble themselves, for the crown of your glory has fallen. And you will see those coming from the north, and you will suffer like a woman in labor. The reason why this happened is because your sins are great, so your skirts are lifted and your heels are bruised. This is why you forgot me and trusted lies. Therefore, I will lift your skirt up to your face to expose your shame.

God lamented like a shepherd who lost his flock and calls Judah (us) (15-17). However, blinded and deaf by arrogance, we cannot understand and hear God's heart. The same God who was looking for Adam, who hid his face in the garden in the beginning, is again calling us, who have broken the covenant, so sadly. Can't you hear the lamentation of God who is crying out like an echo?

He says that under the threat of Assyria, Babylon, which Judah relied on instead of God, will become an enemy and attack Judah (vv. 20,21). A painful judgment of war will come upon Judah. We must listen to the lamentation and lamentation of God, who warns us through the prophet but wants us to turn around and repent. You have to listen and watch.

God, help us to hear the voice of your lamentation and lamentation and turn around!
