Thanks and Pride

2 Thessalonians 1:1-12

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy wrote their second letter to the saints in the Thessalonian church, wishing you grace and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, and thanking God that the Thessalonian brethren's faith grows and love It is abundant, and in the midst of persecution and tribulation, it boasts in the churches for its faith and perseverance.

It is the justice of God to repay tribulation to those who cause it, and to give rest to those who suffer. Paul proclaim the punishment of eternal destruction to those who do not obey the gospel of the Lord Jesus.

That is why Paul and his co-workers pray for the Thessalonian church members that God considers you fit for His calling and that He may accomplish all your good purposes and works of faith by His power.

God is a righteous man who repays those who suffer distress with distress and repays those who suffer with rest. The Lord Jesus, with the angels of his power, cast down from heaven in the midst of flames, and punish those who do not know God and those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus (v.6-9). So the reason why we can enjoy ourselves in distress is because we know that suffering is a platform of patience, and that the platform achieves its wish.

Our faith should grow and our love abounds, so that even in the midst of persecution and tribulation, through faith and perseverance, we should become thankful and boastful.

We must pray for each other. We should pray that God will consider us fit for His calling and that He will accomplish all our good purposes and works of faith by His power. So let the name of our Lord Jesus be glorified in us and that we too may be glorified in Him.

I pray that God, the righteous God, who repays those who give trouble with trouble and pays those who receive it with rest, considers us suitable for his call and does all our good purposes and faith with God's power. May our faith grow and love be abundant, and in the midst of persecution and suffering, be thankful and proud with faith and patience!
