Fugitive David
1 Samuel 21:1-15
When David escaped from King Saul, he met Ahimelech, the priest in the land of Nob, and asked for something to eat, and the priest offered David the holy bread. And Ahimelech gave Goliath's sword to David. On that day, David was afraid of Saul and went to Achish king of Gath, but when the servants of Achish recognized David, David was very afraid of the king Achish and escaped the crisis by pretending to be mad.
David was tragically reduced to having to act like a madman before Achish king of Gath, who discovered his identity. However, he still did not depart from God. True faith is continuing to seek God earnestly even amid suffering.
Lord, help us to not to forget Your promises in the face of hardship.
