Serve Jehovah With All Your Heart!
1 Samuel 12:16-25
Through the omen of thunder and rain at the time of harvesting wheat, Samuel reveals the great iniquity that the Israelites demanded a king through God's wrath and discipline. When the Israelites asked Samuel to pray for them, Samuel said that he would not commit a sin of ceasing to pray for the people of Israel and that he would teach them the good and righteous way. And Samuel exhorts the people of Israel to serve the Lord with all your heart, remembering the great things the Lord has done for you.
Although God shows anger and punishment for the sins of the people of Israel who demanded a king, God saves and protects them when they repent and serve the Lord with all their heart, thinking about the great things that the Lord has done for Israel. Let us serve God our Father and our Lord Jesus with all our hearts, remembering the great work that God has done for us, that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, died and rose again for us.
Samuel promises not to commit the sin of ceasing to pray for the people of Israel and to teach them the good and righteous way. Let us also pray for our families and the saints without ceasing to commit ourselves to learning and teaching the good and righteous way.
O God, remember the great things you have done, and serve God our Father and our Lord Jesus with all our hearts! And like Samuel, pray for the family and the saints without ceasing! Help me to learn and teach in the good and righteous way!
