Don't let the altar fire go out!

 

Leviticus 6:8-23

 

The burnt offering and grain offering recorded in Leviticus 1 and 2 are explained again from the point of view of the priest. The priest must keep the fire on the altar from being extinguished and must offer burnt offerings in holy clothing. After offering a handful of the people's grain offering, the priest may eat the rest, but no leaven must be added. On the day of the anointing of Aaron and his descendants, all the grain offerings must be burned.

 

God commanded that the fire on the altar should not be extinguished. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) Watch and pray that you may not fall into temptation, but the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26: 41) Do not get drunk, for this is debauchery, but be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). We must watch and pray and live a life filled with God the Holy Spirit.

The priest wore holy clothing and offered burnt offerings. You also, like living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession. to proclaim the beautiful virtues of him who called out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:5, 9). Now we have become royal priests through Jesus Christ. Let us carry out our mission to the end to proclaim the beautiful virtues of the One who entered into his marvelous light, not by holy garments, but by holy words and deeds.

 

God who commanded that the fire of the altar not be extinguished, may we always rejoice, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, pray that we will not fall into temptation, and live a life filled with God the Holy Spirit! Thank you for making us a royal priesthood through Jesus Christ. Help me to fulfill the precious mission of proclaiming His beautiful virtues through holy words and deeds to the end! In the presidential election in Korea tomorrow, help us to raise up a man who has a heart of God like David!
