The Plagues and Gnats and Flies

 

Exodus 8:16~32

 

God is an almighty God who governs not just time('tomorrow') and space (Egypt and Goshen) but even the smallest micro-organisms (gnats, flies). Wherever I am in my life righty now, and whatever I face, do I confess that God is the true ruler who is at the centre of it all?

 

God's command cannot be negotiated. The declaration of God that Moses had to clearly deliver to Pharaoh was that 'the people of Israel had to depart from the land of Egypt'. We must be able to discern between what we must give up for the sake of preaching Christ's love, and what we must never compromise, even at the risk of losing everything.

 

Lord, help us to confess that God is the true ruler at the heart of all things and give us the wisdom to discern what we must give up in order to spread the love of Christ and what we must never compromise even when we are in danger of losing everything, and give us the courage to practice it.
