Psalm 2
Main Idea
God sets up His Son as king to judge the world that has looked down on His creation. This psalm shows us the dynasty that started with David and is completed with Jesus Christ.
# Thinking & Understanding
God governs the world with His Words and set up His King on Mount Zion. But the kings of the world that rejected God’s rule set up a plan to counter the King that God had set up. The rebellion that the kings of the world planned was laughable in the eyes of God and was something that made God angry.
God takes the King that He has set up as His Son and gives Him all authority. The enemies of God, all those who think that they are powerful in the world and oppose God, will be shattered like pottery before God’s Son the King.
# What lesson is God teaching me?
God governs the world through His Son. Not only that, but God gives those who believe in Jesus the right to be called children of God and has us govern the place that we live in. Are you governing (changing) the world with the power and authority that God has given you?
