장모와의 만남 meeting with mother-in-law

 

마음이 극심하게 무너지면 인지력도 떨어지고 현실감각도 둔해집니다. When your mind is severely broken, your cognitive abilities decline and your sense of reality becomes dull. 사실이 아닌 감정에 휘둘리거나, 사태를 제대로 파악하기가 어려워지기도 합니다. You may find yourself swayed by emotions that are not true, or it may become difficult to properly understand the situation. 엠마오로 가는 두 제자가 그랬습니다. The two disciples on the road to Emmaus did so. 이스라엘을 구원하실 메시아로 믿은 예수님이 십자가에 못 박혀 돌아가시자, 그들은 큰 충격을 받고 실의에 빠졌습니다. When Jesus, whom they believed to be the Messiah who would save Israel, was crucified and died, they were shocked and disillusioned. 그래서 부활하신 예수님이 다가오셔서 말을 거시는데도 예수님인줄 알아보지 못합니다. So even when the resurrected Jesus comes and speaks to them, they do not recognize him. 그러나 예수님은 ‘더디 믿는’ 그들을 내버려두지 않으십니다. But Jesus does not abandon those who are ‘slow of heart to believe.’ 그들이 부활하신 예수님을 알아보고 절망에서 벗어나 굳건한 믿음을 지닌 제자로 거듭나도록 인도하십니다. He leads them to recognize the resurrected Jesus and to break free from despair, becoming disciples with strong faith.

 

□말씀과 나눔 Words and Sharing

1. 부활하신 예수님이 엠마오로 가는 두 제자와 동행하십니다(13~27절).

1. The resurrected Jesus accompanies two disciples on the road to Emmaus (verses 13-27).

1) 두 제자가 예수님을 알아보지 못한 이유는 무엇입니까(16절)?

1) Why did the two disciples not recognize Jesus (verse 16)?

16 그들의 눈이 가리어져서 그인 줄 알아보지 못하거늘

16 But their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.

그들의 눈이 가리어져서 예수님을 알아보지 못했습니다.

Their eyes were blocked so that they did not recognize Jesus.

2) 두 제자는 예수님에게 어떤 이야기를 들려줍니까(17~27절)?

예수님의 죽으심과 부활에 관한 이야기

The story of Jesus' death and resurrection

3) 두 제자의 말을 들은 예수님은 어떤 반응을 보이십니까(25~27절)?

25 이르시되 미련하고 선지자들이 말한 모든 것을 마음에 더디 믿는 자들이여

26 그리스도가 이런 고난을 받고 자기의 영광에 들어가야 할 것이 아니냐 하시고

27 이에 모세와 모든 선지자의 글로 시작하여 모든 성경에 쓴 바 자기에 관한 것을 자세히 설명하시니라

5 And he said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

26 Was not it necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?"

27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

마음에 더디 믿는 자들이라 책망하시며 모세와 선지자의 글로 시작하여 모든 성경에 쓴 바 자기에 관한 것을 자세히 설명하십니다. He rebuked them for being slow of heart to believe, and beginning with Moses and the Prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

 

<나눔1> 엠마오로 내려가는 제자들은 그리스도가 고난을 받아야 한다는 사실을 받아들이지 못했기에 실의에 빠져서 예루살렘을 떠났습니다. <Share 1> The disciples on their way to Emmaus left Jerusalem in despair because they could not accept the fact that Christ had to suffer. 말씀이 아닌 자기의 선입견으로 메시아를 이해하면 영적으로 실패할 수 밖에 없습니다. If you understand the Messiah based on your own preconceptions rather than the Word, you are doomed to spiritual failure. 혹시 우리도 세속적 가치관으로 신앙생활을 하다가 시험에 빠진 적은 없는지 나눠봅시다. Let's share whether we have ever fallen into temptation while living our religious life with worldly values.

 

제가 아는 어떤 신앙인이 물질적인 축복을 바라고 선교사역에 물질에 헌신하였는데, 이에 대하여 물질적인 축복이 아니라 물질적인 어려움으로 신앙생활의 시험에 빠진 적이 있었습니다. I know a believer who devoted his material resources to missionary work in hopes of receiving material blessings, but was put to the test of his faith life not because of material blessings but because of material difficulties.

 

2. 두 제자의 눈이 밝아져 예수님을 알아봅니다(28~35절).

2. The eyes of the two disciples were opened and they recognized Jesus (verses 28-35).

1) 두 제자가 예수님을 알아본 것은 언제입니까(30~31절)?

1) When did the two disciples recognize Jesus (verses 30-31)?

30 그들과 함께 음식 잡수실 때에 떡을 가지사 축사하시고 떼어 그들에게 주시니

31 그들의 눈이 밝아져 그인 줄 알아 보더니 예수는 그들에게 보이지 아니하시는지라

30 While he was eating with them, he took bread, gave thanks and broke it and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight.

예수께서 떡을 가지사 축사하시고 떼어 두 제자에게 주실 때 그들의 눈이 밝아져 예수님을 알아보았습니다. As Jesus took the bread, gave thanks and broke it and gave it to his disciples, their eyes were opened and they recognized him.

2) 제자들의 마음은 언제 불타듯이 뜨거워졌습니까(32절)?

2) When did the disciples’ hearts become burning hot (verse 32)?

32 그들이 서로 말하되 길에서 우리에게 말씀하시고 우리에게 성경을 풀어 주실 때에 우리 속에서 마음이 뜨겁지 아니하더냐 하고

32 They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”

예수께서 성경을 풀어주실 때에 그들의 마음이 불타듯이 뜨거워졌습니다.

When Jesus opened the Scriptures to them, their hearts burned with fire.

3) 부활하신 예수님을 만난 것을 깨달은 두 제자는 곧바로 무슨 일을 합니까(33~35절)? 3) What did the two disciples do immediately after realizing that they had met the resurrected Jesus (verses 33-35)?

33 곧 그 때로 일어나 예루살렘에 돌아가 보니 열한 제자 및 그들과 함께 한 자들이 모여 있어

34 말하기를 주께서 과연 살아나시고 시몬에게 보이셨다 하는지라

35 두 사람도 길에서 된 일과 예수께서 떡을 떼심으로 자기들에게 알려지신 것을 말하더라

33 They got up at that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. They found the eleven and those with them gathered together, 34 saying, "The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon." 35 The two also told what had happened on the road and how Jesus was made known to them in the breaking of bread.

두 제자는 곧 일어나 예루살렘으로 돌아가서 길에서 된 일과 예수께서 떡을 떼심으로 자기들에게 알려주신 것을 말하였습니다. The two disciples got up at once and returned to Jerusalem. They told what had happened on the road and what Jesus had revealed to them in the breaking of the bread.

 

<나눔 2> 예수님이 말씀을 풀어 주실 때, 제자들은 고난을 통과한 영광에 눈떴고, 식었던 마음도 다시 뜨거워졌습니다. <Sharing 2> When Jesus explained the words, the disciples opened their eyes to the glory that came from overcoming suffering, and their cold hearts became warm again. 말씀을 배우고 묵상하면서 마음이 벅차오르고 뜨거워진 경험을 나눠봅시다. Let us share our experiences of being filled with emotion and warmth as we learn and meditate on the Word.

 

아침 말씀 묵상 시간을 통하여 마음이 벅차오르고 하나님의 임재를 경험한 적이 여러 번 있었습니다. There have been many times when I have felt my heart fill with emotion and experienced God's presence during the morning devotional time.

 

<나눔 3> 눈이 밝아지자 제자들이 맨 먼저 한 일은 부활의 증인이 되는 것이었습니다. <Sharing 3> The first thing the disciples did when their eyes were opened was to become witnesses of the resurrection. 그들은 부활하신 예수님을 만난 ‘기쁜 소식’을 자기만 알고 있을 수 없었기 때문입니다. Because they could not keep the ‘good news’ of meeting the resurrected Jesus to themselves. 나는 어떻게 부활을 증언하고 있는지 나눠봅시다. Let me share how I am testifying to the resurrection.

 

때를 얻든지 못 얻든지 모든 사람들에게 우리를 위하여 죽으시고 부활하신 예수님의 증언하려고 애쓰고 있습니다. We strive to testify to all people, whether in season or out of season, about Jesus' death and resurrection for us.

주님, 날마다 성경을 묵상하면서 부활하신 주님과 깊은 교제를 나눌 수 있게 하소서!

Lord, please help me to have deep fellowship with the resurrected Lord as I meditate on the Bible every day!

세상의 길로 가는 이들이 주님을 만나 사명의 길로 돌아오게 하소서!

May those who are walking the paths of the world meet the Lord and return to the path of mission!

때를 얻든지 못 얻든지, 모든 사람에게 우리를 위해 죽으시고 부활하신 주님을 증거하는 삶을 살게 하소서!

May we live a life that testifies to everyone, whether in season or out of season, about the Lord who died and rose again for us!
