False Prophet vs Tears of God

 

Jeremiah 14:13-22

 

Jeremiah was grieved and said to God, the prophets said to the people of Judah, you will not see the sword, and famine will not come upon you, and you will be assured of peace. God says I did not send them and they prophesy lies. And God says that those who prophesied falsely will perish with their families by sword and famine. And God says to them with these words, My eyes will shed tears night and day without ceasing, because the virgin daughter, my people, will perish with great ruin and grievous wounds. Jeremiah and the people of Judah acknowledge our wickedness and the wickedness of our ancestors, and ask in the name of the Lord not to hate us.

 

God did not send false prophets, but false prophets are rampant from the time of Jeremiah until now. We must discern and obey the words of the true prophet of God, not being deceived by the flattery and false peace of the false prophet.

 

God weeps day and night as he sees the great destruction that will befall his virgin daughter, his people. We too will have to shed tears day and night as we look forward to the great destruction that will befall our families, relatives, friends and neighbors.

 

God, help us not to be deceived by false prophecies and to discern and obey the true Word of God! And let us shed tears day and night in prayer as we look forward to the great destruction that will befall our family, relatives, friends and neighbors!
