Faith that Leads to Salvation
Faith that Leads to Salvation
Romans 10:5-13
Paul said that when we come to Jesus in faith, Moses' words, "The law is not as far away as the height of the heavens and the depths of the earth, but as near as our hearts as our lips," become reality. If we confess with our lips and hearts our ‘faith’ in Jesus, who fulfilled the law, and who was the goal of all the laws, God will recognize us as the righteous who have kept the law and save us. Whether you are a Jew who has the law or a Gentile who does not know the law, salvation can only be reached through faith in Jesus.
Jesus is our Lord. God raised Jesus from the dead. Let us believe with the heart and be justified, and confess with the mouth and be saved(9,10). Confession of the mouth and faith of the heart are not the formula of salvation, but the expression of the whole person's faith. Our faith must be confident enough to confess and proclaim Jesus publicly. Our faith must dominate our selves and personalities and show them well in our lives.
Jesus becomes the Lord equally to all people and gives abundant grace to all who call on Jesus. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved(12,13). It does not discriminate between Jews and Greeks, Christians and Muslims, and those who believe in Jesus and confess will be saved. We must give thanks to God for His grace through Jesus and preach the gospel to all without discrimination.
God, thank You for allowing us to believe in Jesus as our Lord with our hearts and confess with our mouths to be saved. Let our faith dominate our selves and personalities and manifest them well in our lives! Let us preach the gospel of salvation to all people without discrimination in gratitude for the grace of salvation that You have bestowed on us!
