From slaves of sin to slaves of righteousness
From slaves of sin to slaves of righteousness
Romans 6:15-23
The apostle Paul wrote to the saints in Rome asking if they would commit sins because they are not under the law but under grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and Paul answers that he can never do that. Paul gave thanks to God and said that the members of the Roman Church were originally slaves of sin, but obeyed the example of the teachings they had heard in their hearts, freed them from sin, and became slaves of righteousness. And just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and lawlessness, so now Paul exhorts you to present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification. And when you become a slave of sin, you will die without any fruit, but when you become a slave of righteousness, you will bear holy fruit and gain eternal life.
God frees us, originally slaves of sin, from sin to become slaves of righteousness. Let us give thanks to God for His grace and live as servants of righteousness, not slaves of sin, so that we can bear holy fruits and gain eternal life.
God, thank You for freeing us, originally slaves of sin, to become slaves of righteousness. Help us to live as servants of righteousness, not as servants of sin, and bear holy fruit to gain eternal life!
