Let's abandon selfishness and seek the benefit of the community!
Let's abandon selfishness and seek the benefit of the community!
Numbers 32:1-19
The Reubenites and the Gadites asked Moses and the leaders to give them the land east of the Jordan River, which was good for livestock. Moses compares the 10 spies of the first generation of Exodus with an erroneous idea that demoralizes the entire people of Israel. So the Reubenites and the Gadites built pens and cities for their livestock and their families, and pledged to stand in front of Israel to fight and not to occupy the land west of the Jordan River.
We must give up selfishness. At first, the Reubenites and Gadites did not think of the community and only sought their own benefit. They listened to Moses' rebuke, corrected their mistakes, fought in the vanguard of the Israeli community, and vowed not to take the land west of the Jordan River. We must abandon our own selfishness and seek the benefit of the community. And let us pray for the qualities of a leader to recognize the faults of the community and a humble heart to correct them.
God, let us abandon selfishness and seek the benefit of the community! Give us the qualities of a leader to realize the faults of the community and a humble heart to correct them!
