When you fall into the temptation of sin

2 Samuel 11:1-13

At the height of his power, David sent Joab and his men to war, and while he was staying in Jerusalem, one day he saw Bathsheba, a woman bathing, and took her. When she heard that she was pregnant, she summoned her husband Uriah the Hittite from the battlefield and sent him home to inquire about the safety of the war with Joab, but to cover David's own transgression, Uriah did not go home, but slept at the gate of the palace.

At the height of his power, David sends Joab and his men to war, and he sits idle and falls into sin. We should always be vigilant so that we do not fall into the temptations of sin even more when things are going well.

David refuses to confess his sin and tries to cover up his transgression by calling Uriah from the battlefield and sending him to his house, but Uriah does not return home and sleeps at the gate of the palace. We must confess our iniquities, not try to cover our own faults. In doing so, you can live a new life without falling into greater sins.

God, help us to stay awake at all times so as not to fall into the temptations of sin! If we have fallen into sin, do not try to cover our own faults, but confess our sins so that we can live a new life without falling into greater sins!
