Holiness and purity and forgiveness and a new life, not condemnation
Holiness and purity and forgiveness and a new life, not condemnation
Leviticus 20:1-16, John 8:1-11
God commands decisive punishment for various sins such as the sin of offering children to Molech (idol) and adultery, and commands the people of Israel to be holy and pure. For those of us who are living in the New Testament era, remember that the law leads us to Christ like a schoolteacher, give thanks for the grace of Jesus Christ on the cross, and follow the guidance of God the Holy Spirit to break free from sin resolutely and live as holy and pure people of God.
To the scribes and Pharisees who condemned the adulterous woman and tried to put Jesus in trouble, Jesus commanded, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast a stone at her.” And Jesus commanded the woman, “Neither do I condemn you; sin no more” (John 8:1-11). We must have the heart of Jesus, live a life of love and forgiveness, and live a holy new life in which we will never sin again.
Heavenly Father, who commanded us to be holy, because I am holy, help us to always live under the guidance of the Word and the Holy Spirit so that we will not be stained by world’s sin! And with the heart of Jesus who commanded not to condemn the adulterous woman and not to sin again, let us love and forgive sinners without condemning them, and let them live a holy new life in which they will never sin again!
